I suppose it just shows how poor the actually racing is, if we need the likes of crashes and risks to make it exciting. The like of crashes should annoy us becuase we want to see racing. In short, improving the ontrack racing, and improve safety since they'll support each other.

If you want good track racing, take off all the wings and rely solely on tyre adhesion.

I'm all for safety improvements, but I'd like to see a penalty (i.e., getting beached) when a driver goes off track.

Shouldn't going off the track and losing the racing line be the penalty? Or perhaps once off the track a driver must return as directly as possible but giving way to drivers on track, hence nothing like buemi did in qauli.

Seriously, why do we allow all these aero packages and then complain about the lack of passing?

A pointless exercise as passing also become rare. If we just want to go faster, fit a jet engine. If you want to see exciting races, take the wings off. One of the arguements for racing has always been to have 'trickle down' technology to the every day car. All these wings have nothing to do with real cars at all

cos they make the cars go faster?

ok .. the FIA dont read our posts. getting mad at each other bcos of their dumb rules not gonna help either ( look who's talking ) we actually need to figure out a way to get them to note and work out a set of rules that makes sense. we all conected via the web and its a good communication tool. If people sacrifice and not go and pay to watch and support the races they will stand up and take note. they can be forced to change the rules....

I was just suggesting a reason areo packages are still allowed, I was making no comment on whether I thought they should be allowed or not.

Tbh - how many of us internet lot are there? How many would really respond, in other words could we really make a difference? I think no refuelling may be a big enough disaster to get people turning off in their droves.

I agree with you but that dont mean that starting a form of protest by sending email to everybody across the globe wont help. you will be surprised how fast information really travel via the net. so yes we can make a diffrence. bernie is already noticing poor attendance at certain tracks. sometimes people just needs a lil push in the right direction as long as they know their sacrifice will be worth it.
anyway - not saying we should do it - just one way of getting things done.

Maybe they should just turn all the massive tarmac run of areas on new tracks into huge deep gravel traps, then then there would be a consequence if they came off but it would be safe.

the present graveltraps works. the survival area is too small once you reach the other side of it. thats the problem. flying off the track is just a unfortunate part of racing. its only the new guys that was involved in issues there i think,,, with the exception of heiki. its testing and ongoing training or lack thereof thats the problem
