Okay, first up is the order in which the stewards' reports are listed and in time-order (as in, time on the document). Basically, I've applied the penalties in this order: Alonso, Barrichello, Button, Sutil, Buemi, Kovalainen*. Before applying the next penalty, I renumbered everything so that it was as if the next penalty was the only one to be applied.

Vettel
Trulli
Hamilton
Heidfeld
Raikkonen
Barrichello
Sutil
Rosberg
Button
Kubica
Kovalainen
Buemi
Glock
Alguersuari
Fisichella
Nakajima
Alonso
Grosjean
Liuzzi
Webber

And here it is in the order of first to last based on when they set their Q2 lap times. The order, this time, goes Buemi (because he had to have the accident before anything else could happen), Alonso, Button, Barrichello, Sutil, Kovalainen*.

Vettel
Trulli
Hamilton
Heidfeld
Raikkonen
Rosberg
Kubica
Sutil
Barrichello
Glock
Kovalainen
Button
Alguersuari
Buemi
Fisichella
Alonso
Nakajima
Grosjean
Liuzzi
Webber

I think the latter is the one they will use. Either way, it works out better for some than others.

* Kovalainen is last because I would assume that the decision to change his gearbox couldn't be made until after qualifying is finished.

I agree, the second method is probably the one they'll use. Thanks for putting that together :)

According to Ewan, Timo Glock will be starting from the pits (if at all) so a further revision:

Vettel
Trulli
Hamilton
Heidfeld
Raikkonen
Rosberg
Kubica
Sutil
Barrichello
Kovalainen
Button
Alguersuari
Buemi
Fisichella
Alonso
Nakajima
Grosjean
Liuzzi
Webber
Glock

You're welcome. I have to use my mind for something, right? :)

Hpefully this brings back a bit of 05 magic in terms of drivers making their way through the field.

I doubt Vettel and Hamilton will be caught though.

I'd love to see Webber pull something off. That Red Bull is better than most of the cars ahead, and Webber better than a number of the drivers ahead. I'd like to see him make the top eight. Should we get the rather unlikely wet race, tomorrow, I could see him storming through the field.

HAHA I'm being quoted as a source now. Brilliant!

Not long before you're up at the top now ;)

Btw i've been thinking about this.

Doesn't each driver have to pass a number of tests before he is allowed back behind the wheel of a racing car.
I seem to remember something about having to jump off the pitwall?

Either way if that is the case, I doubt Glock will race - if his wound is as bad as expected.

It's possible. Toyota may be able to argue a case with the FIA to get Kamui in, though. He has participated in two of the weekend's sessions, even if they were Friday. If they play their cards right, the FIA may let them give it a go.

Therefore the car would be starting from the pits whatever happens?

I'm not sure how the rules go on that, actually. I think (although I'm not even 50% sure) that he could start from P20 instead. But what's the point? He may as well tank up and run it as a test session, eh?

Interestingly I would think thathe would be allowed to start P20, however more than likely Toyota would start him from the pits and, yes, run it as a test session.

Well Webber is racing and he didnt Qualify so i dont see why he cant do the same really.

But Webber did participate in the Saturday practice session. I'm not sure whether the rules say a changed-driver must participate in at least one Saturday session, or just one session prior to the race, though.
