Ferrari - upset after a massive fight between alonso and massa.

Alonso is currently the best driver in the world hungry for more titles. Mass is hungry for his first (Even though 2008 was rightfully his). So what are their McLaren competition. Kimi the unmotivated drunkard whi has been there and done that and shouldn't be in F1 any longer and Lewis Hamilton who is also hungry for wins and thinks he is Ayrton Senna. Well he can think he is as good as Senna but he isn't but either way it will be 1 (Hamilton) against 2 (Alonso and Massa). So if it comes down to Ferrari versus McLaren, then 2010 will equal Ferrari Constructors champions. Drivers Championship is easy to work out. Alonso is better than all Massa, Hamilton and Raikkonen so that settles that. Maybe Raikkonen will give McLaren some Ferrari secrets. Great, then McLaren will be disqualified as Jean Todt the future FIA president will support Ferrari's righteous cause and kick McLaren out of the championship in 2010. Defenitly let the games begin. I don't pity Ferrari in any way, shape or form! Alonso is ONE of the best drivers on the grid but wherever he goes, trouble seems to follow...

He's definitely one of the best on the grid, given what happened in 2007 I wouldn't stick my neck out and say he's the absolute best. Still, he's a massive asset to have on your team provided he can get along with his team mate. We'll have to wait and see whether him and Massa play nice.

I believe that the best test of a drivers skill is put them in the same car, this was done with Alonso and the current world champion.

While Alonso is good, very good in fact, to say he is the best on the grid is subjective. I will say that he is ONE of the most consistent drivers though.

The main reason i can see for Ferrari wanting him is the fact that he has a huge following in Spain, if Ferrari have him the revenue from merchandise, sponsorship and so forth will rise massively.

Who says they don't? They'll just make sure he understands by way of a horses head or something.

Alonso is the best all-rounder. Ferrari really should have tried to sign him up for 2007, and I'm surprised they did not. Raikkonen, whilst probably slightly faster than Alonso, lacks a lot of other attributes, which McLaren and Mercedes' shoddy reliability and perceived corporate image disguised.

Fernando Alonso's new Ferrari contract could see him race for the famous Italian team until the end of the 2015 season and earn him 150 million euros, according to reports on Tuesday in the Spanish press.

The reports, in the newspapers AS and Diario Sport based mainly on the information of the radio station SER, said Spaniard Alonso, 27, is guaranteed three seasons at Maranello with an automatic option to extend in 2013 and 2014.

In addition to the terms of three years plus two, yet another conditional option to extend until the end of 2015 is reportedly also included. It is believed he will earn about 25 million euros every year.

The document has purportedly already been deposited with the Contract Recognition Board, and could be announced officially at 10am local from the Suzuka circuit in Japan on Thursday.

However, Italy's Corriere dello Sport claimed that while an announcement on Thursday is likely, the official news might also have to wait until Friday.

Former twice world champion Alonso, who has driven for Minardi and McLaren and is moving from his current team Renault, is also expected to take with him some of his preferred engineers.

His replacement at Renault will almost certainly be the Pole Robert Kubica, whose teammate will be the incumbent Romain Grosjean.
