find that most of the games with the best storylines are either the really old Playstation games which I play in ePSXe, older computer games or else things from even further back than that on the NES/SNES/N64/Master System/Mega Drive etc.

To each their own, I guess :)

Oh, and the Red Ring of Death is an easy fix :hehe:

Sure I've mentioned this loads of times....my NES is still hooked up to my TV :D I'm definitely a Ninty girl though...my DS is practically glued to me ;)

I would have tried fixing the RROD myself, only MS said they'd do it for free and it wasn't mine so breaking it further wasn't really an option. I have a knack for killing electronic things anyway. Every time I touch my OH's fancy water-cooled multi-coloured-lighted PC, it dies. I'm banned from touching it now :hehe:

That said, I'm not as a bad as one of my brother's friends - he couldn't get some cable in the back of his PC so he took a hammer and hammered it in. Unsurprisingly, as it was the wrong hole for the cable, his 'workaround' didn't work.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm quite the Nintendo fan, too. Mario, Final Fantasy, F-Zero. Awesome :)

I have been meaning to get some new games for my DS recently, but there's so much choice and I'm not sure it's wise. I'm currently trying to complete a few of the PC games that I've got and they're taking forever (hardly surprising, considering both Wizardry 8 and Morrowind are massive:P).

I couldn't get into Morrowind - I think maybe because I lost my life to Oblivion several times before I tried Morrowind. The first time, the walking so slooooooooooooooowly got to me so I cheated and edited the config file. Got bored v. quickly. Second time was more successful (no cheating :) ) but the diary was too backward for me so I gave up. Never heard of Wizardry 8 but looks awesome (I'm a sucker for RPGs) so might get it this weekend.

DS-wise - I'd definitely recommend Professor Layton as it rocks! Have to admit I haven't bought a DS game for ages though - tend to use it for NetHack and reading books really and not much else.

Ah, see I was the other way around. I played Morrowind then Oblivion and I couldn't really get in to the latter! :hehe:

Wizardry 8 isn't very well-known for some reason, but it's a really good game with a good storyline. One or two of the NPCs lack some of the depth that I had hoped for when I got it, but it's not noticeable enough to make a difference really. There's a lot of playing time in it and it's pretty hard to do it all in one sitting. I played the entirety of Final Fantasy IX in a weekend, but I couldn't do that with Wizardry 8. It was much more fun playing a bit every day over a period of months for me. :)

What on earth are you doing with your PS3s? mine has been shut in a cabinet with other hot devices (cable box/dvd recorder) for 2 years with quite a few long gaming sessions and other than suddenly sounding like a 747 taking off telling me to open the cabinet I've never had any problems.

my c64 still does me for games. you can not beat Dizzy Egg for fun

I wish my sister never sold her C64, that was a fun console and it's never the same playing the Great Giana Sisters (aka. the Mario rip-off) through Emulators.

I still have my retro consoles thankfully. :)

My ps3 came in the post today, trouble is i was out when the games arrived. So now I have a console and no games :(

download free demos from the playstation store.

You may also need to do a system update, be as well doing that before you get your hands on your games.

Sony is rather good. I remember my friend went through four PS2's in less than a year and they replaced them all.

My PS3 has never broken and I've had it since it was released.

I bet it'll break now :( Stupid jinx
