Although he'll have to wait until 2010 for a Formula One homecoming, injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is set to return to competition in November at a Brazilian karting event. Massa has been sidelined since July after fracturing his skull during an accident at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Massa is to take part in the International Challenge of Go-Kart Champions at the Ingeles kart track in Florianopolis, Brazil from November 27-29. The 28 year-old is a regular competitor at the annual contest, which sees top international drivers from various series compete against each other.
"I'm going to take part again in the challenge of the stars, which is one of the most trendy end-of-year events," the Brazilian was quoted as saying by Reuters. "It is an incredible party, they get the best drivers together in all categories in the world - Formula One, Formula Indy, stock car."
At last year's event Massa finished third. Victory went to Brawn GP's Rubens Barrichello, with Renault reserve driver Lucas di Grassi second.
