Lewis's actions only detrimantly affected Trulli and the FIA.
I pretty much agree with the rest of your post, but this isn't true. It detrimentally affected the FIA, Trulli, Toyota and indeed every other team and driver as it would have given Lewis and McLaren one point (and podium) more than they would otherwise have had, and as we all know a single point can make all the difference somewhere along the line.

Correct. However, even if he had told the truth, he gave the position back. The point is, it had (or would have had) an effect on everyone else.
