In my opinion, his performance this weekend (if we forget his little accident...ahem) has been nothing short of brilliance. Could he be a suitable replacement for Alonso at McLaren should the Spaniard walk away?

I think it was a cruel blow to end up running into the back of Webber, don't blame him for crying his eyes out. He was my driver of the day.

Interesting idea, has he not signed a contract with Toro Rosso yet?

But he does look the business, he will probably have the number 1 status at STR.

Todays performance by Sebastian was very impressive and he showed impressive speed and potential well beyond his experience (incident aside).

Mclaren ? nah not for a while, he has shown hes a quick driver but needs more experience.

As for next year will be interesting to see him against Bourdais who I think should be fast, but I have a feeling Vettel will be quicker.

Hmmm haven't we been down here before? *nudge nudge* Belgium, 1991, agreement in place for Schumacher to drive for Jordan the rest of season but no contract in place, cue approach from Benetton... :P

Apart from this mistake, he showed today he is somebody for the future. The same with a few people at the moment, I'm not sure if he can jump straight into a top team, but given another year, he will be ready for the next step.

brilliant driver...with the youth for hamilton together, they will make a GREAT future team & maybe the next Michael Schumacher

i dont blame him for crying, it was a cruel blow, if he didnt crash, then it would of been brilliant for RBR/STR, even better than last years Monaco GP, when DC et a 3rd place & put on a cape!

I agree with everyone he was brilliant and I felt his pain after having such a great run and then have that happen.

Guess you'll have to blame Alonso for the safety car matey. If he hadn't disemboweled his car, the safety car would not have not have been deployed and Vettle wouldn't have taken both himself and Weber out of the race.

Vettel did very well and I think he a great talent.........Webb should be ashamed of himself, I remember he used to pick on Nico when there were team-mates at Williams. Vettel should hold his head up high he great.....We must remember Lewis, Vettel are still just rookies I expect to see alot from him in the future.

I had to laugh at Webbers comments when talking to Louise Goodman on ITV, about kids being inexperienced and effing it up.

Turns out the only driver who could handle the weather was a rookie, and only two years older than Vettel.

Still, a great drive from Vettel.

I was wondering during the race what national anthem would have been played for the Red Bull team had Webber won the race. Aren't they technically Austrian or something?

Can you imagine him parking his car and taking his helmet off to celebrate covered in vomit?

A couple of other laughs from the commentry, Sato needing some water to put out the fire 'I'll go out on the track'

And Button only 3 seconds off his lap times with no front wing!
