I think Team Dodgy:-

Team Principle – Flavio Briatore
Chief Engineer – Pat Symonds
Chief Mechanic – Nigel Stepney
Sporting director – Dave Ryan
Engineer - Mike Coughlan
Reprographics – Trudy Coughlan
Driver - Piquet Jr

I heard that they are trying to get Dodge to supply the team engines.

If that conversation took place, Whiting needs to be investigated.

Whiting has always been a con man and should have been investigated a long time before this.

I wonder what has happened to Prodrive as they where sniffing around as well.

I wonder how long it'll be before Symonds teams up with Stepney to form their own team?

So that leaked transcript shows that Piquet was in way over his head. He didn't initiate crash-gate, he just complied with Team Orders. In fact, Renault probably blackmailed Piquet: "If you want to keep your job, bring out the safety car at Singapore."

Then combine that with inexperience and desperation. Nelsinho is a victim, not an orchestrator. If Alonso goes to Ferrari you could see Piquet back at Renault. I hope to see Nelsinho driving next year. I'd like to see him when there is no pressure.

Nelsinho - you have my support. I also retract all comments and opinions I expressed about Piquet's father.

BS. He has a brain of his own (or maybe not) and should have known that this would bite him in his bum. Endangering lives is a no-no!

:yes::yes::yes:

If he couldn't see the folly in such an action, he has no place in a race car. If he did accept the danger of doing something so stupid and then actually did it, he has no place in a race car. If after accepting the danger and performing the action he than decided to blackmail his team followed by running to the authorities only after the team sacked him....he has no place in motor racing whatsoever. Good Riddance to a barely mediocre driver.

/jumps. :hehe:

I posted this on another thread.

If Piquet is scum and a waste of human tissue, as Bill puts it. Then Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, or Michael Schumacher are all even worse. They all deliberately made a decision to risk another driver's life, spectators and stewards just for the glory of winning a World Championship.

Yet, no one here appears to feel that way, except the Ferrari-haters.

PIquet had this decision made from his management. If what you are saying is correct, Prost, Senna (and Schumacher) should all have been suspended, revoked of their superlicenses, and disqualified from their championships. They should all be serving lengthy sentences in prison.

But because you are all fueled by emotion, you put Nelinho in a class far worse than any of them. :nono::bs::thumbdown:

Bunch of sods really. :director:

Really, which of them blackmailed their teams to hold their seats? Which of them turned against those teams for not keeping their underperforming asses in a car they didn't deserve? I'm not naive enough to believe that drivers never crash out other drivers, I see it ever single weekend at the track. That is significantly different than fixing a race. I've been fendered off the lead and I can not say that I've never retaliated.. but it isn't the crash that so disgusts me about Jr...it's the blackmail. Yes, the crash is bad when you think of the cold blooded planning and execution of it...it's not like two drivers exchanging a bit of rub...but it's the rest of it that really makes me sick. You can't cry victim after you've done what he did. He is not a victim in this. He is a conspirator. I absolutely despise competitors who cry victim only after things don't go their way...and to do so after you've fixed a multi-million dollar race like Piquet did? That is man card revoking action right there. The man is a puss and I'd tell him so to his face.

They blackmailed him first. I don't think he blackmailed the team. I don't think he ever blackmailed the team. His father, maybe. But his father dobbed them in.

Like I said, you are all fueled by emotion. He came second to Hamilton in the GP2 series a few seasons ago. He is a talented driver. You are all just saying these things because you didn't like Piquet to start with. As no one here liked Piquet (including myself at times) all these viewpoints are completely bias.

My viewpoint is not bias. Just because you all hated Piquet, doesn't mean he is to blame for crash-gate. I was not a fan of Piquet, but I could see what pressure he was under, so I didn't want to make any judgements.

His snitching is good for the sport. He is snitching now, because he is not contracted by Renault, so now he is more protected. If he was still driving for Renault, you guys would be acting the same way. It's career suicide. Complete career suicide. Now, it's kamikaze.

In fact, I don't think Briatore sacked Piquet. I think Briatore was instructed to sack Piquet, from the guys who went and sacked Briatore.

What Piquet did was unethical. But, he was taken complete advantage of. The glass is either half full or half empty. Piquet was either bribed or blackmailed. Either way, Briatore is scum, and Piquet was exploited because of his inexperience.

That's all I put it down to. Briatore is scum and Piquet was inexperienced. Briatore should leave the sport, and Piquet should be given a second chance with a better working environment.

You keep repeating that Piquet was blackmailed first. Prove it.

It's quite a big assumption to say that only you are being unbiased here
