I think the Merc/Mclaren relationship has been strained for a long time, Brawn has just made it the right time for Merc to buy a team that is not as opinionated by how it is run.

been strained for some time? i havent seen any signs of this. If McLaren were the pace setters right now i bet this talk of the road car would be no issue.

Are you saying that Mercedes where going to be happy about being part owners of a company that has been involved in spy and lie gates? It is the same sort of problem that Renault are going through now.
