I doubt Alonso will go to Ferrari in 2010, although there are still a number of factors which are working in his favour.

A few days ago those factors started to change very quickly, but it's still possible to him to have to wait till 2010, that year it's definitely sure.

Well I think Ferrari themselves have no idea what to do. Although the signs from Massa are good, they cannot be entirely sure that he'll ever achieve full fitness.

They won't know until he gets into the car again, by then that'll be late Autumn at best?

If Renault leave F1 I can see Alonso taking a year out, if not then he'll remain at Renault.

Massa is in good shape, but there's still a problem with his eye that is not clear at all, he has damaged his macula and it's not sure about how it's going to evolve (talking about racing, not about his normal life).

Sorry I didn't make myself that clear. That was what I meant, there are still a number of question marks.

There has been talk of a Massa test before the end of the year. This makes sense as it might well be to assess whether he is still at the same level as before. Brain surgeons I have spoken to say that head injuries like that can often leave the patient with epilepsy and there is much to be discovered about the Felipe Massa who hopes to return from the accident. Let’s all hope he is 100% the same man, as Montezemolo assured everyone he is over the weekend.

So perhaps Massa might be the one to make way and Ferrari would field a line up of Alonso and Raikkonen in 2010. But is Alonso going to have to wait until a Massa winter test? Then again, where would he drive in 2010 if Renault lose the case over the Singapore race fixing allegations?

Kubica to decide on future 'very soon'

By Jonathan Noble Thursday, September 17th 2009, 16:02 GMT

Robert Kubica expects to make a decision about his plans for next year imminently - with the Pole admitting that what happens to Renault at next week's FIA hearing is a factor in what he does.

The Pole is believed to have a firm offer from Renault on the table but has told the French car manufacturer that he will not sign the deal until he knows what its plans for 2010 are.

And amid the controversy caused by the race-fix allegations surrounding Renault, there is a chance that the current BMW-Sauber driver may feel it better to avoid a move there.

Kubica remains strongly linked with the Williams team, as the Grove-based outfit seek a top-line replacement for Nico Rosberg, who looks set to join Brawn GP in 2010.

Until Renault's F1 future is certain, however, Kubica will not make a firm decision. However, he says news should be forthcoming soon.

"I think we are in very dedicated time of the season," said Kubica about the state of his contract talks. "There is no clear indication where I will be, but for sure I hope we will be able to make a final decision very soon, so I know where I go and who I will be racing for."

When asked if the Renault situation had complicated his team choice for 2010, Kubica said: "Yes and not. For sure Renault is one of the options, for sure now we will have to wait and see what will be the decision. But Renault was not the only option so we have to work on others."

Kubica did not want to get drawn into whether or not the Renault controversy had changed his thinking about moving to Renault though.

"To be honest, I don't like to talk about it because I am not involved. I don't have any information, what I know is just from the press so I would not like to comment."

That my friend is the only thing right about the Alonso so called "move" rumour. Ferrari have someone nearly or even better than Schumacher? Or Kimi who lets face it is not better?

But Kimi has shown promise thee past few races and has redeemed himself?

What would you do?

How can you say Kimi is not better when only 2 years ago he won a WDC and Massa came 4th.

...and he'll prob take 4th or even 3rd this year if he keeps doing what hes doing.

Kimi is a good driver prob one of the best in F1 when motivated.

According to this, Williams have now signed up Hulkenberg for 2010. And a journalist who is a customer of Williams has apparently said that an "experienced driver" is taking Nico's place... the type that Patrick Head has been crying out for. Will it be Ruby? Quick Nick? Kimi? Or even Alonso?

So, uh, there are rumours that Lotus are considering Fairuz Fauzy. A guy who has done less than Nakajima, Piquet, Buemi, Albers...even Karthikeyan! :irked:

And it won't be long before Alex Yoong gets linked with a Lotus seat as well...

That's the name I was trying to think of! The Malaysian guy who spoke incredibly good English. I can't remember what his driving was like though :(
