Jacque Villeneuve was something special gone to waste because of loyalty to his manager. Button is making similar blunders, oh to see Jensen in a McLaren.

Going back over the years I can remember many drivers who would have been champions but making the wrong choices. Chris Amon stands out in my memory as probably having a talent equal to Jim Clark but wasted in cars that were either not fast enough or unreliable.

Lets also take a while to remember Giles Villeneuve --- a true great even if he drove for Ferrari.

What are you talking about, Jensen had no loyalty he left Williams high and dry. As for Jacque Villeneuve he as won a WDC unlike Jensen. I am no fan of Alonso, but he was Jensen replacement and he went on to win 2 WDC. Jensen have alway been in decent cars, no one force him to jump into a Honda car.

I do pick my drivers on driving skills!! Even if the picking is in response to emotion rather than reason. They have to be special to get that reaction (hairs prickling on the back of your neck special) Being cute or being British is just an added bonus. :D

Can't wait to see a few women in F1 so that we can make similar comments about them like you just did.

I am old enough enough to remember Davina Galitza she didn't do much for me inspite of the massive hype.
I have see women drivers in club racing who could challenge any man for example -- Jenny Birrell in the 70s but women F1 have never made an impact.

Has for how much of Hamilton's hype is because he is British I don't know, he has certainly more raw talent than some previous world champions, for example Mansell who was never a natural but a worthy champion because of his sheer determination to win. Lewis Hamilton is also in the right car and under Ron's experienced tuition.

The things is could women really cope with the physical demands of Formula One? Sure, they can match them on skill, but given the high G-forces etc. I think their endurance may become a factor in the final phase of a Grand Prix, which may lead to mistakes and give the men an advantage.

As for qualifying today, it was good. Vettel did very well, outclassing that clown Liuzzi, as did Button. Hamilton, who looked to be there or there abouts, then, slightly slower, did a wonderful lap under pressure. His coolness and ability to produce under pressure is supreme.

Of course women could cope!! They would need training of course but so do the men! I remember Ayrton Senna finishing GP's unable to hold his head up straight because his neck muscles werent strong enough and he wasnt that fit. Didnt stop him being fast though. The training is better now.

Yeah, I remember him having to sit down and almost passing out. He just wasn't the whole package as a driver in many ways.

Frank Willams shown drivers no loyalty over the years (for example Coulthard), why should he get it from a driver ?

Jenson, is talented it's the contract with Honda he should have served his contract out with Williams team, the contract with Williams could have come to any end. Williams is improving more then Honda. Jenson with Lewis great, don't get upset but I think Coulthard is a better driver then Jenson.

The thing is that Senna was one of the most fit drivers, and still struggled. Infact, he really started the whole culture of drivers needing to be like athletes. However, you have misunderstood my remark as something sexist. The fact is that is scientifically proven that women have a shorter physical strength and endurance than men. I'm no expert in the field, however, surely that would hand men an advantage towards the end of a Grand Prix?
