^ I missed those photos. The penguins remind me of images my dad took from the Falklands, maybe it's the combination of khaki and penguin that's making me think of that. Where was it taken and what do you do Jabberwocky?

sorry matey I did not notice your post earlier. I am in the RAF, so I got a nice 4 month holiday in the Falklands for free, so took some photos of the experience.

Tex I am a cat cat really, unless you are a horrible stinking penguin, and yes they stink very bad.

it is indeed mate. what a nice walk from the heli port to there it is too. I was out there in 06/07

I was at MPA 2000-2001 and again in 2004 working for FISU and then Estates Branch.

It is a place I am glad I have been to visit, not sure I would like to visit it again.

New Years Eve in the Globe was a special event though

I loved the place and kept trying to get a posting back down there, I'm unemployed now so I very much doubt I'll ever revisit the Falklands

in a strange way, I am sort of hoping to go back as it is coming up to my time for going on another holiday, so it is the Falkland or going to the Beach, I have done 1 tour at both and FI seems the better choice really.

I spent most of my time drinking in the Slippit Inn, as we disliked Sharkies

I was often to be found in the Sgts Mess bar ... usually in the TV lounge (because I was too tight to rent one from the SIF office) with a pint of Guinness in one hand and the remote in the other.
