Will it be as exicting (and controversial) as last year?

Barrichello seeks Massa inspiration

By Michele Lostia Tuesday, September 15th 2009, 12:39 GMT

Rubens Barrichello, Brawn, Valencia 2009Rubens Barrichello says he will use Felipe Massa's advice to try and win next weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.

The Brawn driver, currently trailing team-mate Jenson Button by 14 points in the championship, will arrive in Singapore as one of the favourites for victory after having won two of the last three races.

Barrichello revealed he had already used Massa's advice to win the European Grand Prix at Valencia, and he will resort to the Ferrari driver's expertise again to try and conquer the Singapore Grand Prix.

"You know how I will prepare for Singapore? I will go sleep every night at Felipe Massa's place," Barrichello was quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I had been at his home before Valencia and he explained to me how to deal with that track where he dominated last year. And then I won. He also flew at Singapore, so I want him to tell me how he did it.

"I will get there more prepared this year: they've modified some corners, the track has been re-surfaced and all those terrible bumps should be gone. I wear contact lenses and I would have a headache whenever I stepped out of the car. Now I know what to expect."

Hope he doesn't drive off with his fuel line attached!!

Latest news is that it's going to be verrryyyy smokey at Singapore.

Apparantly I was reading that there will be a very visible smoke haze at night throughout the city.
The problem is caused by scrub fires and forest clearing in Indonesia.

Oh dear.

Williams will strike down with avengance, they have some big upgrades in a bid to finish the year on a very high note. The FW30 was mighty there last year considering it hadn't been developed any further since Hockenheim, and even Nakajima got into Q3.

This is one track I have a feeling Red Bull will struggle badly with the very bumpy track and kerbs. Fisichella might do better here because he seems to have re-gained that special groove he used to get into back in his early days when he was quite a street circuit specialist.

The bumpy nature of the track might be something for KERS runners to worry about with the extra weight they carry. And because it's a night race I think Button will struggle too. Barrichello might have an excellent chance of greatly reducing Button's lead.

Just so long it's not the poppy fields they're clearing, could make for quite a long race.

I don't buy that. If McLaren or Ferrari introduce big upgrades then people take notice. Williams could introduce a new car, recent history says it will still be slow.

So far the haze been minimal. Earlier this year you could smell and see it for a few weeks. This morning news papers wrote about it, but I didn't really notice any real difference. Anyway it's unlikely to have a big impact, a rain shower would make a bigger impact on the race for sure. And those are likely to come any day around the year.

I predict any crash to be under a massive spot light.......

Whoa! You a psychic?

Yep, Grosjean to crash around lap 14 :P

But I certainly wouldn't bet against Barrichello doing well this weekend. We know this is a track Brawn will thrive at, and Massa is the guy who took pole last year by around 6 or 8 tenths and really should've won. He was insanely fast, so his advice will surely set Rubens in good stead.
