The team that I hungout with said I was better than I gave myself credit for so that was very motivating. My VERY first ride in a kart was in a 100cc and I came within 2sec's of the 100cc lap record. Kart's are as close to real racing as this working class stiff will ever get but I'm not complaining :D .

I went in a 20 cc cart each time I have done it I have gotten quicker, now I am only 3 seconds of the lap record mind u its a very short track!(ps I have only done the track 3 times!) I wana try a faster cart one day, when I get a little bit better at the 40mph one, I wanna set the new customer lap record but some how I dont see myself knocking off a whole 3 seconds! I'd be happy with 2!

i've been in a kart at the age of 12 thanks to two bonus tickets, me and my best friend, it has been an awesome experience! we were 4 drivers, 2 experienced and us two, and i had the second best time just for 5 hundredths of a second! :D

no more kart after that :(

So do you still race texas?

No I have not for some year's now but I'm trying to get some money put away for another kart. I have another obsessive hobby which tend's to take most of my "fun money" and that's saltwater fishing. I hope to have another kart within the next 1-2yr's and one thing I love so much about the karting community our my local track is they are like one big family. Just show up and people are offering you food and ride's in their kart's.

I always wanted to competitively race karts when i grew up, i went recently but it's quite expensive over here (£30 a go for somewhere good) but i managed to set the lap record for the new batch of karts they had in :D

Now this looks good and it's just up the road from me, and as I'm due to compete in some British Formula Ford races next year, perhaps doing something like this on Karts over the winter could be handy preparation. :)

Ive only just got into Karting the last couple of years, still learning as I go along. Its not a cheap sport but its cheap for motorsport thats for sure.

I've just got a new kart an Arrow AX9 KT100SEC engine Clubman class , its sprint karting, no shifter karts (super Karts) for me :P.

Oh at the local Hire Kart track Casey Stoner had the lap record there, his wife hails from Adelaide! I was half a second off his time, I was happy with that !

That's great bud, 0.5sec of Stoner's time is definitely something to be proud of.
