Foreign? Define foreign on this international forum? I, e.g., have two citizenships and consider myself a world citizen.

The Idea of sporting a team is that you want them to do well regardless of how succesfull or not they are.

BMW POWERED BY HEIDFELD.

HEIDFELD POSSIBLY THE GREATEST DRIVER OF THE LAST DECADE NEVER TO BE GIVEN A REALLY GOOD CHANCE

HEIDFELD POSSIBLY THE BEST DRIVER OF THE CURRENT GRID!

Ok, i like that you are enthusiastic about Heidfeld, and yes hes had some great drives this year, Melbourne, canada, and Hungary. But don't get to far ahead of yourself and start shouting hes the greatest ever. it dosen't come across well, people will think your his lapdog or somthing.

But i have to say Kubica the most unfortunate driver this year, who has yet to have a decent race since sliverstone. Plus he had that crash, and has had bad luck in the 3 races it was possible for him to get a podium. Hopefully he gets somthing in the last 3 races.

Yeah it would be great to see F1 with a more varying 1st and 2nd rows. There would definitely be more passing and excitement if it were 3/4 teams competing for the top.

Most races are decided in qualy and I find this ridiculously frustrating, there's a good number of challenging drivers in the mid and back field... Let's hope that at least for the short-term (next season) BMW, Renault (with Alonso) and Williams are able to mix up with this years' front runners. Ferrari is unlikely to fall flat and Mclaren have had a strong car for quite a while, so it should be interesting...

Also, thanks to the FIA now EVERYONE knows Ferrari's "secrets" so it's not only Mclaren who can be competitive he he ('tis a joke!!)

Not really a fan of youth! I like folk with a history but most of the older drivers are past it or completely past it, i.e wurz! Does any one think that he will still be in a williams next year? Id like to see kubica go there and for BMW to bring in Kovalinen this would help Nick to win a WDC if BMW produce a car capable of it as heiki is not as good as robert! Plus nico and robert would help to push the williams higher up the field who knows perhaps we might even see the white and blue fighting the famous Blue and white!

Plus the race kubi came 8th was beacuse he was slow, he wasnt able to go at the pace neccesary to make his light fuel load work! where as hamilton blew up a tire and quick nick took advantage!

Fine, so how have McLaren been "crippled"?
Oh, and by the way, does Mariam Webster have a definition for "a bit crippled"?

Nice one. Maybe Dali thinks they had a server crash and lost some of their data, so they have a few bits crippled (and some bytes as well) 8)

Probably the most impressive progress of all teams in 2007 was made at the Hinwil-based BMW-Sauber squad. Because the current car has been performing so well, they're actually ahead of schedule with development and have switched focus to the 2008 car entirely now. This promises even better things for the next season and I wouldn't be surprised if they'll be able to fight for wins on a regular basis. With McLaren in hot water and a bit crippled, BMW-Sauber is bound to take over second spot from them (based on performance and not just by FIA decision). Will they be able to challenge Ferrari?

Um... based on what performance? McLaren is league above BMW in this season.

However, since McLaren will not use any Ferrari's intellectual property next year, I'm sure BMW will be able to challenge Ferrari; McLaren should be a bit above both of their reach, at least until Max Torquemada Mosley pulls another devil hunt from his loaded sleeves. 8)

Jokes aside, team that gains technological advance is likely to keep it for longer than 1 season; at least that is what we had in the last decade or two. From that point of view, I would expect McLaren to have strong show in the next season performance wise... Probably Ferrari as well. BMW, I do see stronger than this season, but still not strong enough - it is not like everyone else will just sit while BMW push their limits. I'm not sure about Renault, hoping they will improve as well but would not be surprised if they continue with decline.

Of course, that is just from technology point of view. What happens with drivers and managers will play part as well. Just as example, there were rumours that R. Brown is considered - and contacted by McLaren on that matter - as replacement for Ron Dennis (yeah I know it is hard to imagine but one never knows). One way or another, I'd like to see 4 strong teams competing equally, but I'm not expecting to see that for 2008... maybe in 2009.

Based on performance next season, not just by FIA decision like this season.

Uh, no read the statement again. DD said the most impressive progress team of the 2007 season is BMW. Everyone knew what Ferrari can do, everyone knew what McLaren is capabled of doing, no what knew BMW-Sauber can do before the 2007 season. Both Ferrari, Honda, and McLaren have been in F1 for many years, BMW is new to the game, they built their own engine and chassis and is currently ahead of Renault, Honda, and Toyota in points. Is Ferrari impressive, no. Is McLaren impressive, no. These teams are where they should be and expected to be, BMW-Sauber came out of nowhere and suprised everyone, now that impressive. As for the 2008 season, they have the same drivers, same personels, and no controversies, no cry babies, or no divas, they will do what they do best and that is racing, my prediction?? they will knock either Ferrari or Mclaren off the podium next year.
