For what its worth Martin Brundle and Nikki Lauda were discussing the crash and both think it was deliberate.

I'm amazed that somebody as sensible as Brundle is taking it seriously! My gut feeling (in the absence of any actual facts) is that Piquet is more likely to play a dirty trick atm than Renault were a year ago.

I'm afraid this will turn out to be wishful thinking on your part - read the transcript of the interview that the stewards had with Pat Symonds!

I remember finding it unfortunate (for Massa) at first glance. But there was not much to make of it, until seeing Alonso would come out winning out of luck.... to me it seemed more luck than anything. Partly because Alonso was/is often put on similar strategies, and Piquet pretty much crashed everywhere.... so i just left it at "lucky".
But with the telemetry and Symonds answers, it looks much more suspicious.....

No way Renault will pay a 100M fine. I think they would rather leave the sport.... actually, if found guilty, they will probably be fined AND banned; but it doesnt make sense to pay a fine if they're leaving the sport, right??

That interview is a disaster for Renault. i can see why he dodged the questions because he was in no position to mount a proper defense but they are properly on the back foot now.

How's your gut feeling now?

so will Fernando be stripped of the win? will they change the championship points? or let by gones be by gones?

MM already announced a while ago that after Nov. 30th 2008, the results were set in stone, so no changes.
