ProDrive/Aston Martin. Lola Cars.

Just a couple that spring to mind.

:-? Lola being the only ones capable of making their own cars... i wouldnt call these mentioned worthy replacements for BMW, Toyota or Renault!

Well that's a matter of opinion.

no its a matter of facilites and what they can bring. Youre talking about names here thats not substantial and not relevant when comparing to BMW Toyota or Renault. Might I add all engine manufactures as well as chassis manufacturers!

It's still a matter of opinion. Just because they don't have facilities on par with those teams now doesn't mean they won't in the future.

And world-class facilities haven't done Toyota much good, nor did they do Honda much good until they bet the farm on a rules change. Look at them in comparison to Force India who have much less impressive facilities. Small teams have every right to be in Formula One and if they can show up with a car that is at least in the same league, they're worthy of being here.

Would like to point out that Force India's facilities have improved a lot over the last couple of years including i believe a new Wind Tunnel i would expect the gap between FI's facilities and Lola's would be bigger than the gap between McLaren's and Force India's.

Uh-huh. And my response to that would be that Lola's would logically also improve. In fact they could even buy Renault's if the French team departed and Lola opted to do so.

I agree with that but i would like them to have the facilities in place before they entered the sport.

Sure. I'm just saying that whilst the new teams wouldn't match up to the departing ones at first, it's not fair to claim that makes them unworthy to step in. :)

I though that he had said that he was going to stay put with BMW for next year. I suppose if BMW are not on the grid then he will not be. but I would imagine that if BMW/Sauber get to the grid then he will be one of the drivers

During quali today they said only 5 drivers are signed up for next season

Vettel, Webber, Hamilton, Massa, Raikkonen.

Raikkonen definitely confirmed? Good stuff.

I would've thought at least Button is already signed too though.

Raikkonen has a contract for next season. Luca di Montezemolo has already indicated that Raikkonen will be there next year. So yeah, I guess.

Was interesting to hear EJ say that Nico Rosberg will be at brawn next season (his words not mine) on the grounds he doesn't want to play second fiddle to lewis at McLaren next year.
