I'm guessing that either the lottery isn't as live as we're led to believe or somehow the balls are altered while the recording is taking place.

Yep defo

Unless before the show he said "these are the numbers" and they were its bull.

Altering the balls by way of camera trickery, which would be a masterstroke in itself, is the only way I could think of to fake it.

The program that followed his prediction was great too. I would love to see how he primed the minds of the people on their way to the show. I don't believe it was set up but I know for definite that I would have responded differently to the way some of his subjects did.

Roll on 9pm tonight.

Yeah, everyone thinks that about themselves TBH

Anyways, I don't believe it was camera trickery. Simply because it prove the whole show was a complete farce and a lie, and doubt either the BBC or CH4 want to be involved in such a thing. I think it was more like the worlds most impressive magic trick. Something it took him a year to think off, and if it took him a year, I doubt we'll guess what it was within just a few days.

That's my point. If I was at that show, I would have experienced whatever they were subjected to beforehand, subliminally altering my thoughts.

The best example was the woman who was asked to pick the envelope with the cheque in it. Just before she made her final decision, she read out a letter, written beforehand by Brown, stating that she would not change her mind. To beat him, all she had to do was switch envelopes, irrespective of whether the cheque was there or not. She stuck with the same envelope and it didn't contain the cheque.

How you can influence a mind to make such mistakes is something special.

Maybe there was a little hand clutching a marker pen peeking through a trap door in the wall, obscured from view by the balls. Of course that would require a very long arm so the prespective would have to be deceptive or maybe he just has an invisible man behind there :scratchchin::hehe:

Honestly, I haven't got a clue how he did it. I do wonder how they come up with these things, my mind really isn't up to it. I'm no Jonathan Creek unfortunately.

I've looked at some of his past work just now. He seems to be about misleading the viewer without actually lying. Making you think he's saying or doing something he actually isn't. I can't remember verbatim what he said during the show so I'm at a loss as to where he's going with this.

have your read his book? it tells you how he does some of the things, and the sort of tricks that he uses

I didn't realise he'd released books. Thanks Jabber, I'll have a look.

tricks of the mind I think it was called.

the magic tricks at the front are good and I have managed to amaze people with it. plus he talks about his memory map way of remembering things.

Yeah I'm always interested by insights into using memory and brain function. I think it's completely possible, although astoudingly impressive, to memorize the A-Z as he claimed. You could get a little glimpse of his image and word association as he was linking street names and grid references on his show.

he said that what he normally does is thing of a set route that you know well. as in walking through the front door of your house and then walking upstairs to get changed or whatever. but at points along the route to thing of an item. then when you think of the route again the items will appear to you in the same order

Yeah it's just a variant on the Room Method. There was a Russian guy who was famous for being to remember everything and performed to live audiences to make a living. Unfortunately it took him a long time to learn how to forget all the crap that was accumulating in his head as a result, making his life a misery. Something I don't think Brown suffers with.
