Maybe now they'll finally put the damned logo on the Car. I've been waiting so long for them to do it >_<

What logo, the delmonte logo?

:hehe:

Rossy's Favourite

Wrong. Ross Brawn was only allowed to eat Delmonte bananas when he was at Ferrari and employed by The Man from Del Monte himself.

Now he has to do with another brand.

That's a typical treat for him.

Mercedes: No rush to reveal engine plan

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/78420
By Jonathan Noble and Glenn Freeman Tuesday, September 8th 2009, 09:49 GMT

Mercedes-Benz motorsport boss Norbert HaugMercedes-Benz is likely to delay an announcement about its customer engine plans for 2010, which was originally scheduled for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix.

The German car manufacturer's motorsport boss Norbert Haug had said in Belgium that he expected next year's engine deals to all be finalised by Monza, but the company's ongoing talks regarding taking an equity share in Brawn GP appear to have delayed matters.

Haug told AUTOSPORT: "We are not in a hurry and we are not quite sure when we will announce something. I said I hoped it would be before Monza, but I don't know if that will be the case now."

Mercedes-Benz already has engine contracts with McLaren and Force India for next year, and a deal with Brawn GP will also happen once discussions regarding an equity deal are complete.

The fate of a potential deal with Red Bull Racing remains unsure, however, with sources suggesting that an arrangement that had appeared near certain a few weeks ago could yet fall at the final hurdle.

The Milton Keynes-based team has been chasing a Mercedes-Benz deal for much of the season, and its recent reliability troubles with current supplier Renault had appeared to act as a catalyst for a deal to be signed with the German car manufacturer.

However, it is understood that Brawn GP's equity tie-up with Mercedes-Benz may have complicated matters - with sources suggesting that there are questions about whether it would make sense for the car maker to supply three potential title-winning teams.

Mercedes-Benz is keen, however, to supply four outfits with engines because of the commercial benefits.

Should the Red Bull Racing deal not happen, then speculation has linked Williams with a customer deal if it chooses not to pursue the option it has with Renault. Alternatively, Mercedes-Benz could limit its supply to three teams for 2010.

Haug has also confirmed that Rubens Barrichello will be able to re-use his Belgian Grand Prix engine in a race, despite the oil leak and fire he suffered at Spa.

"It's fine," he said. "It was a leak in the oil cooler, so the oil came out and burned. Finally in the pits it burned the engine, from the outside a little bit, but the engine is absolutely fine. He can race with it again."

"Yeah we're in no rush, but I can confirm that we are also buying into Red Bull now" ;)

Yes ofcourse! But anyways I don't see why Brawn is such an appealing buy in, they were no where as Honda for years, and it took a new set of rules and alot of Honda money to get them into a race winner. So next season who's to say they will even be up there again!

Ross Brawn - legend!

From F1 Live:

Norbert Haug is remaining tight-lipped regarding Mercedes-Benz's plans for next season. It was expected that the German manufacturer would unveil its plans for next year at the Italian Grand Prix, but motorsport vice president Haug said he was "not sure" that timetable could now be met.

The delay could be due to reports that Mercedes is close to buying into the Brawn team, and how this might affect the engine deal that was expected to be reached with Red Bull Racing.

It seems Red Bull might now be keener to simply stay put with Renault power, leading to suggestions that Sir Frank Williams and Patrick Head's visit at the Brands Hatch DTM race last weekend could be the prelude to a Williams-Mercedes deal.

Asked on Tuesday whether he had talks with the Williams team co-owners at Brands Hatch, Haug simply answered in the negative.

He also told reporters that, as well as being in talks with Nico Rosberg about a drive for next season, the planned programme announcement for Monza is likely to be delayed.

Rosberg to drive silver Brawn in 2010 - report
Wednesday 9 September at 15:58 : Sep.9 (GMM) Nico Rosberg is going to switch to Brawn to drive a silver-coloured car in 2010, according to the authoritative Swiss publication Blick

In an article penned by the well-connected journalist veteran Roger Benoit, it is claimed that Mercedes will allow its contract with McLaren to lapse at the end of 2011, and by then the German manufacturer will own 75 per cent of Brawn GP

Blick said the Brawn buyout is in conjunction with Arab partners, and will see the Brackley-built cars painted silver and with prominent Mercedes branding as of 2010

Benoit also wrote that Rosberg is in fact not heading to McLaren, the British team that is currently 40 per cent owned by Mercedes, but to Brawn, despite chief executive Nick Fry saying recently he was happy to keep Rubens Barrichello alongside Jenson Button

Rosberg said coyly last week that although still with multiple options for 2010, he had now at least honed in on one in particular

"Nico is an option," Mercedes' motor sport president Norbert Haug said on Tuesday. "He is a candidate."

The signs are growing that McLaren and Mercedes-Benz are headed for different futures in Formula One.

The companies had already parted in terms of their joint road sports car programmes, and reports have intensified throughout this week that a similar split is looming in terms of their 15-year F1 collaboration.

On Wednesday, Auto Motor und Sport claimed that McLaren is getting in the way of Mercedes' plans for next season by currently vetoing the intended engine supply deal with Red Bull Racing.

The tension on this front is almost certainly also linked with yet another team, as both the German language Blick and Auto Motor und Sport publications report that Brackley-based Brawn GP is set to be 75% owned by Mercedes by 2012.

McLaren has a contract for exclusive works rights until the end of 2011, so until Mercedes can buy Brawn itself, the Daimler AG shareholder AABAR of Abu Dhabi could hold the stake, Auto Motor und Sport said on Thursday.

"If we wanted to change anything with our Formula One commitment then we could certainly speak with Abu Dhabi," Mercedes parent Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche is quoted as saying.

Auto Motor und Sport said contracts with Brawn GP are to be signed shortly, with a deal to include a silver livery from 2010 and the Mercedes logo on the engine cover.

Brawn's new title sponsor is said to be a German company, and 24-year-old German Nico Rosberg is the favourite to become Jenson Button's 2010 team-mate, the report added.
