Even the non football fans are giving England stick for their performances. And we won. :(

Praise the team people, they're winners now!!

They weren't great though were they? And the opposition weren't exactly known as a great footballing nation. Hopefully tonight will be much better.

They weren't fluent, but if two of Rooney's shots had been a couple of inches closer to the target it would have been 4-1 and business as usual.

I'm interested to see who he's picked upfront. Defoe could score through a basketball hoop at the moment, but if he plays then Rooney's going to have to be the target man and hold it up for him. I'd rather see Rooney getting most of the chances!!

Missing by an inch is like missing by a mile, it didn't go in so it doesn't count. However, we've shown ourselves more than capable during these qualifying matches so hopefully they'll be back on form tonight.

Go England!

Ooo a harsh critic. I'd disagree. Missing by 2 inches means you were 2 inches from hitting the corner of the goal and a near enough unsaveable shot. Blasting straight at the goalkeeper isn't necessarily better.

I suppose the potential was there but unless we convert those oppertunites then they're still fairly redundant.

I have no idea who any of these players are but I saw 'Da Silva' and immediately thought of Senna :cloud9:

This ITV coverage is appalling. How many adverts are we going to get before the match even starts? I'm surprised they don't do what they did with F1 and stick them in the middle of the action with a quick recap as we return

yeah tell me about it, just so much nicer to watch the whole race uninterupted.

Northern Ireland are 1-0 down at home. Disappointing really, as we've wasted a lot of set pieces.

Awesome first half, Heskey's looking suspect though. Plenty of misses and falls, Defoe can't be far away.

Gotta be said that Lennon makes things happen, especially against that left back.

Can't believe Heskey started over Defoe, wtf? He's the most in-form English player!
