I like the three car idea = More fast drivers in fast cars...

I'm one of few people who's with you on that, but appreciate it can't work with this many teams.

I was thinking why don't the likes of Ferrari and McLaren enter 2 teams, but share car designs, facilities, resources and the like? If the FIA were willing to allow mechanics, engineers and team bosses to move seamlessly between the two during race days then I'm sure it would be considered.

I personally think that Williams would be better off out of FOTA, especially if they are going to keep their hard line against FOTA led rule changes. How long will it be before Williams will be expelled again for disagreeing with the FOTA line? The way things have been set up within the FIA, Williams will get as much say in what happens regardless of their FOTA status. The three car idea is ridiculous as it's very self serving to the big teams, smaller teams can not afford to run three cars and even if they could, 39 cars on the grid? back to pre-qualifying, teams travelling around the world to not even make it onto the final grid! Bad idea all round in my opinion!

39 cars would be insane, I'd hate to see pre-qualifying again!
It should be obvious even to FOTA that with a 13-team field the three cars are not needed.
Yet, as much as I'd love to see a full grid, I'm not so sure about the next 2-3 years: the new teams were lured into the sport with promises of a budget cap, and are now forced to summon much more ca$h, some of them could vanish in a year or two. Toyota will halven its budget for 2010, and might leave in the future, BMW has left and could be replaced by a fourth new team, who faces the same as the three aforementioned, and Toro Rosso is risking too, as customer cars are not allowed and Red Bull is trying to sell it somehow. To sum it up, we're told a lot of teams want to get in F1, let's hope 'n' see if it lasts!

The big teams could be pushing for this 3-cars proposal in view of a reduced grid, probably not for '10 but a year or two later. It would make sense (only) this way :D

Oooo god....i kind of like the idea of the 3 car teams but look at it this way...it can be argued that alot of the 2nd drivers in teams aint treated fairly, ie. Button being favoured over Barichello. So imagine 3 drivers.....would be insaintly unfair to the 3rd drivers!
