I'm sorry about this - I hate to be a grammar nazi. But I swear I die inside a little every time I see:

'should of' instead of 'should have';
'could of' instead of 'could have'; or
'would of' instead of 'would have'.

In case it's not clear - the latter phrases (with 'have') are correct, the former phrases (with 'of') are unacceptable abominations and insults against the english language.

Phew. Rant over.

I apologise profusely for being an unrepentant grammar fascist... :blush:

I used to use a forum that a user used to quote every message that anyone wrote and corrected the spelling, punctuation, and grammer. it was some what annoying and in the end the owner of the site banned him.

So I don't think Amanda's rant was that bad to be fair.

I have the urge to do it, but I force myself not to. On the basis that it would be sooo annoying to everyone else that I'd soon be as welcome as Michael Jackson at a kid's birthday party.

My self control holds up pretty well usually, but every now and then I have a mini-outburst... :D

PS DD, you're such a smartarse :hehe:
PPS Jabberwocky, did you just mix me up with Amanda?

I have the urge to correct people who use double negatives but instead I just stifle a snigger. :hehe:

I don't get all 'teacher' when someone mispell's tire, it's tire and not tyre in my culture but who is to say who is right or wrong? I understood the meaning and realized that spelling's change, did I feel the need to start a thread about it, no! I accept that we are all different and I thrive on that difference because it help's me grow as a person and accept people and thing's for who/what they are.

I need a hug now :wavey: !!
