why would he go from a team where he is whinging about not being the number 1 driver to another team where you have Kimi as a team mate? does he think Kimi will sit back and let him be number 1 there?

One of reasons he might go could be that McLaren wants to get rid of him. And it's not hard to see he'd be looking at another top team... meaning Ferrari, maybe BMW... Renault, I don't think they'll bounce back so quick.

From that point of view, tabloid is playing with possible scenario, but that is all they are doing - playing. Tabloid having confirmed info before serious F1 entities? I don't think so.

Alonso will take his huge ego to replace Ralf at Toyota for a 'very, very fat pay day', in the self-belief that he can make them fast enough to win a world championship... being that he's Alonso's manager, Flavio then gets a large 20 per cent share of the Spaniard's Toyota mega deal - to plow into QPR - and so won't be too upset that he couldn't tempt Alonso back to Renault...

Nico goes to McLaren to partner LH - he's cool and international enough to keep the sponsors happy...

Massa was apparently seen at Spa talking to Toyota which 'could' suggest that he's going there and not Alonso... but...

Why not both of them? Trulli and Ralf have certainly not made 'the car in front a Toyota', much to the chagrin of their Japanese bosses, so Massa and Alonso would be ideal for them...

So if they both go to Toyota, who then fills in at Marenello?

If I were Todt, I'd pluck Button out of his ailing Honda seat for the number two spot at the Prancing Horse. He'd be the perfectly gregarious foil to Kimi's tight-lipped anonymity, would be happy to be the 'second' Ferrari driver and would do a fabulous job behind the wheel all season long...
