there are other sports where people have been caught fixing the outcome of the game. The responsible parties have been penalized but the game goes on. what are your thoughts as to the effect on the image of F1 should all this be true and Renault actually cheated?

it'll be a sodding terrible effect, people will now have the vein of doubt ruining their viewing - people won't get as exicited if their not convinced its genuine.

And it won't just be race fixing, this, if true, was extremely dangerous - it'll be a kick in the face to any driver involved in an accident particularly ones that have been injured.

Same happens at wrestling. If this is true, it simply means F1 has taken another step down towards wrestling - so what? It's not entirely unexpected.

Why would Alonso be banned? It's not as if he was involved in what happened. Sure it gave him the win, but it was his team's decision.
