Precisely. You can't seriously compare them. In the second halves of 2005 and 2006, although Alonso was not in the fastest car, he was there to follow both Raikkonen and Schumacher home when they won Grands Prix. Button, however, is barely managing to score points. He's a right mug. Those comparing him to Schumacher and Alonso need to take a look at themselves. Unless Button starts to show some signs of life, he will not be a credible champion.

anyway, it could be strongly argued that Button took full advantage of the period where he had the best car and you simply cannot fault him for that. It's pretty clear to me that Button just has a nosebleed at the moment, and this dodgy run is a direct result of that.

Simple answer to those two,
1. he had a bad quali lap,
2. cracked under the pressure
