Toyota will never deliver in Formula One, even if their budget was increased tenfold. Their cars look alright in qualifying trim, but are mobile chicanes in the race.

A wildly inaccurate statement judging by the evidence of the past couple of races, but i don't really care about the team of Toyota either so won't waste energy arguing about it. :hehe:

I would have liked to see Trulli do well though, shame he got caught up in the first lap carnage. Ah well.

Toyota's qualifying pace and pace on new tyres wasn't bad, but it pretty soon evaporates. Toyota would struggle to win a Grand Prix from pole position with a decent fuel strategy. It's pretty embarrassing.

Did Heikki pit a 2nd time? I thought he needed to do a splash & dash as he did not use a mixture of the two tyre compounds?

He only pitted once. He's done a lot of long first stints on the softs this year, he's been good at keeping them in good shape on heavy fuel.

Then how did he use both compounds? I thought James and Martin said he was on the harder from the start, and put on the same compound at his stop, so they were saying he would need another stop just to get the softer tire on. If he didn't, then shouldn't whatever the penalty is for that apply? Or was it all false?

Thats what i thought. Maybe he did use the soft compound on his first run. If not he will get slapped with what? A 25 sec penalty?

Kovalainen started the race on the harder compound and then switched to the softer during his one and only pitstop.

Ted checked with McLaren and confirmed that HK started with softs.

Hm... :scratchchin: McLaren lying? *Thinks hard* No, nothing springs to mind - never heard of such a thing.

Classic Kimi:
"We won and we have KERS at every race and that’s a fact."

*except when it broke...

** or the car broke

*** and when you didn't.

**** or you crashed.

***** or you weren't driving because you wanted a Ice cream and a coke.

I don't want to repeat anything that has already been said, but congradulations to Kimi Raikkonen and Giancarlo Fisichella. A truely fantastic GP.

The question of the weekend:
Q: (Joonas Partanen – Iltalehti) Kimi, it has been almost a year and a half since you last won, so did the champagne taste better on the podium compared to those times you were second and third, and then another question: some people have suggested that you won’t cut your hair until you have won again, so are you going to cut it now?
KR: No, it’s nothing to do with that. There’s always speculation in Formula One and b****t as we know. It doesn’t change anything. It’s the same stuff.

To go back to what McLaren Fan said. I don't want to take anything away from Raikkonen, but I think F1 needs to look at the advantages gained by drivers when they use the runoff areas into the first corner of the first lap.

This is an issue which I've always thought should addressed, and it isn't a criticism of Kimi. He was well within his rights to do it, because it doesn't appear to be punishable at the present moment.

However I think that it is a topic for debate.
