so you rekn the drivers would just wear a clear visor and put up with the sun until it goes down or do you think they would do helmet swaps?

I think they would have strips on the tops of their visors that they use as a sun shield when the sun is in their face.

So basically tinted tear offs?

Actually, I had not thought of that, though it may work as well. I was thinking light sensitive visors that darken in sunlight and are clear in lack of it. I have goggles for MX racing that work that way and do a great job of filtering heavy sunlight but not being a nuisance when otherwise. Eyeglasses have had that tech for some time now as well. They have used it on motorcycle helmets but it was pricey...not like that is a problem in F1. In any event, I think if they went with a day into night race that F1 would find a visor that would work. I don't believe they would have to change helmets etc.

I dont think so either. Afterall this is F1 and changing helmets would take up a lot of time in the pits, but I can see them using transition visors like you said.

Massie safty risk tho because you would have to get out of the car but people would rush

it won't happen.

We might as well start this now.

:hehe:

Well only because I have some news and I don't know where it would be best to post it.

The season finale in Abu Dhabi will be run as a twilight race. That means a 1700 local start time, translates as 1300 GMT

That is all.

Wasn't there a night race last year? Is this another one?

Ah ok, sounds good at any rate. It's a shame it's in Abu Dhabi though, a night race would be awesome in the wet.

Well, theres always Singapore. Likely chance of rain there. But also a likely chance of the race being stopped if the rain gets too bad, and visibility on rainy night becomes a nightmare.

But anyways, twilight race at Abu Dhabi. Personally I think the place would look better at night, all lit up. But we'll see how it goes.

I miss the last race of season.
Sick of street circuits except Monaco.
And Bernie messing with dodgy race times.

Why are you missing it?

I miss all of them live, due to work, but I like to have Brazil as last race as it is evening kick off, and I have finished work by then.

Ah, you should get a job at Currys or that, so you can put the GP on the big tvs as you work.

Most races are 6:30/7am for me, waaay to early to watch them live. Good ol' DVR saves the day and I just watch it a couple hours later. I enjoy the later start times because it's 2pm for me.

That circuit for Abu Dhabi looks pretty damn neat.

Well I think i've just blown their entire Secret plan. It is quite simple to work out what they are going to do.
I'd bet they will move the start time to a later slot - meaning the race will start in bright sunshine, but by mid way through the race the daylight will be disappearing, so they will flick on the lighting system and run the second half of the race in darkness.

Great....

I knew it I KNEW IT, what did I tell you? :P:hehe:
