I am fearful that we are not able see all the witnesses before a few people must leave for flights.

I would have a lot to say about this, but we do not have time.

Both the above quotes from MM

In other situations, not before this sporting body, a much greater period of time would have been given, and far greater time set aside for this matter to be dealt with.

Above quote from McLarens Lawyer

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that a hearing on the thursday prior to a granp prix is a bit rediculous, and considering that even the FIA president said he hadn't got time to ask all the relevant questions or see all the relevant witnesses, that they are VERY wrong to give out a punishment?? Does it not strike an impression of "lets get this done at a time so we only have time to make our accusations and McLaren don't have time to refute them or present their own evidence properly."

I a court of law, this case would have gone on for several days at least, and all parties would have been able to present their cases IN FULL. this has plainly not happened, and if this had happened as it did in a real court, no punishment would have been handed down due to an incomplete case being put forward by either side..

The FIA could have asaved alot of time by putting 20 pieces of paper with GUILTY written on them in a hat and letting RD pull one out.. just as fair in the scheme of things..

several days? i'd say, several weeks at least. not to mention the months and months of background prep-work required.

Well, a number of factors were at work, largely commercial as people wanted a verdict before the end of the championship so we didn't have a situation of one team winning the title and then having it taken off them, and the longer it went on, the more damage it did to the pockets of the bigwigs. As far as I see it, the FIA had their mind made up before the thing had even begun. They could have spent a day, a week or a year for it wouldn't have made any difference.

I agree with that McLaren Fan. A couple of drinks, decide the fine, decide the points penalty... "OK, lads, we're ready for the hearing, but let's make it quick... I promised the missus I'd take her to see her her mother tomorrow evening."

That $100 million, will be heading to Max Mosley, bank account the man is so jealous of Ron Dennis and his achievements over the years. He head of a talking shop that have hurt motorsport more then promote it. Max haven't really achieved anything I don't really see why he still head of the FIA the man is clearly bias toward Ferriar and he corrupt to the core that lowlife is destorying F1 and motor sport. It's time that corrupt lowlife Max Mosley went.......:(:(

Maybe McLaren should appeal to be heard during the winter break when more time could be given to see all the witnesses and for MM to say all that needs to be said. This could still be going this time next year. Popcorn anyone?

the only way McLaren would get a fair hearing would be to appeal (which would not be fair and almost definately get them chucked out of 2008 as well), then go to a civil court, but this would probably take at least 2 years to do, and they would just be dragging the reputation of F1 in general through the mud in the mean time..

also, what would they do for their out of work staff next year??
