I doubt that Alonso will go back to McLaren. Despite what happened in 2007 I believe that Alonso won't go to a team unless he has clear #1 status, that won't happen at McLaren! I believe Alonso's only destination other than sticking with Renault is Ferrari, be it next year or 2011.

What makes you think Ferrari would grant him no. 1 status? I'm sure KR or FM would have something to say about that...

Raikkonen is probably more than likely off to WRC next year, and Massa will more than likely be happy to play second fiddle like he did to Schumacher. And besides Ferrari have (at least in recent history) favoured one driver over another. And he definitely gets preferential treatment at Renault!

I think WRC is only a hobby for Kimi,he stay in Formula One at least one years and I think Vettel is preferential for any team of in Formula One.

Well, there has been a new broom sweeping the Ferrari pits for a while now - no preferential treatment of a driver anymore as beautifully demonstrated last year.

I don't see this happening, solely because I don't think Alonso would be prepared to be on even terms with Hamilton. If that issue was overcome, I could see the move happening (but I don't think it likely), as Dennis is gone from McLaren; Whitmarsh is more likeable, and he has admitted there were mistakes on McLaren's part; Hamilton has his title for McLaren, so there is less pressure on the team to deliver for him; and McLaren are a serious force in Formula One. Yes, there is an element of risk to it, but it's one worth taking: Hamilton is not quite the finished article yet, but is learning fast; and Alonso is the best all-rounder on the grid. All in all, a pretty useful combination.

I actually think Alonso's attitude has changed somewhat since 2007, particularly towards Hamilton. It would be interesting and I certainly wouldn't complain, for it would arguably be the best driver pairing (even driver-team pairing, some would say) on the grid. Again.

We'll see what happens should Alonso actually go to Ferrari. If Ferrari want Alonso enough they'll bow to his demands of being #1 driver (if that is a clause).

Alonso will be in a ferrari next year end of.McLaren will have the same driver line up aswell.

I think Alonso is by far the best driver in the buisness at the moment.I think hes worth half a second a lap at least.

As long as he is fairly good back up to Lewis I believe McLaren will be happy enough.

MW basicly said last weekend if he continues the rest of the season like he did in Valencia they're happy enough.

I think Ferrari's days of favouring one driver left along with Jean Todt. Besides, Massa is a massive part of the ferrari team, its a team that Massa's built round him. Alonso would be hard pushed to just come in and demand number 1 status.

But I think at any team, you have to earn the right to be No 1 driver.

But anyway. Alonso back to McLaren. Yeah right, Alonso has some dignity. He's not about to make a muppet of himself.

Perhaps looking at my post it looks more confident than I appear on the matter, having said that i would me amazed if it wasnt the case.

As for Alonso at McLaren lets be real the guy basicly landed us in as much :censored: as possible.I can't stand him,but respect his ability.

Actually I think Martin said that it was a good start but HK did need to improve more.
