Alonso. Please all rumours be correct and Ferrari get Alonso. Otherwise all I see is doom and gloom.

September 10th -> Ferrari/Santander announcement (for Alonso we have to wait till the end of the season)

The fact that Santander is happening gives me confidence that ALonso will happen. Ferrari must get Alonso. It is imperative. With Alonso it will the begining of the Schumacher era the second time around which would be good for F1 as Ferrari will dominate everything once again.

Keep on dreaming!!! No Todt. no Brawn!!! Your domination has ended.

Oh and what about Hamilton? He out drove monobrow at pretty much every given opportunity. Ahem, as a rookie.

I for one hope that the ferrari is as competitive as the mclaren next season just so lewis can rub nandos face in it again.

That's hilarious, it's like you're in 2007 again and are completely oblivious to the realities of the Fernando/Lewis/McLaren situation

And reality is McLaren have admitted they didn't manage Fernando well.

Ah perception; it's the "if a tree falls in a forest and no-one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" thing again!

My perception is that Alonso was a spoilt brat that always had his #1 status in a team and suddenly he didn't have that at McLaren so threw his toys...

>>>of course that is only my perception<<<:hehe:

No, it's Martin Whitmarsh's, and by extension, McLaren's. Nobody is saying Alonso is blameless, but the problems Alonso had at that team were of McLaren's creating and it was their job to sort it out. They did not do so, and whilst that doesn't make them directly responsible for anything Alonso did wrong, it also means they can't pass the blame because they let it happen. If Whitmarsh can admit they made mistakes, you have no reason not to.

Alonso sold out McLaren in exchange for getting away scot-free for his part in the spygate scandal. Alonso doesn't exactly have a halo around his head does he? He was a key component in the spying row, whether that was because he was being kept honest by a rookie or not is neither here nor there. I would like to know how McLaren could have handled Alonso better; maybe putting a 1.3L diesel engine in Hamilton's car? Alonso is playing with the big boys now, he can't expect to have all the attention of the team on him just because he happened to be a double world champion. Alonso's actions at McLaren soured my opinion of him, while at Renault originally I liked him!

I distinctly remember the Ferrari lambs hailing the arrival of Kimi as the new saviour post Schumi, Fernando isn't a god he can't design a car or his feedback isn't any better than the next guy, you'd think Renault would be champions again since his return to his championship winning team! It's up to Ferrari to give him a car and they have lost alot of key people from the Schmacher era. I await the Ferrari fans new saviour in a few years time!

I don't think any driver can solely design a car, but they do need to play a leading part in areas such as feedback and motivation.

Raikkonen hasn't given Ferrari anything like that over these past few years. Alonso will probably be the type of driver which the Scuderia is looking for.

I think alonso's feed back is going to be good compared to Kimi, who is more of a "whatever you give me I will drive quick" Alonso will drive it quick but will also point the design staff into making it quicker.

I think if Ferrari is Alonso and Kimi next year I think it is going to be a redwash

My perception it's the same as Martin Whitmarsh, it was a mess done by Ron Dennis, I have also predicted then that situation should make Hamilton the new Jacques Villleneuve, and till now it's exactly what is happening (1st year - great performance, 2nd year - WDC, 3rd year and so...)

I don't think he LH is exactly under performing he has had a poor car most of the season and did some brilliant drives still. When the MP4-24 finally got near the front he won.

Erm, alot of people made that comparison becuase Jaques never won again after his WDC 2nd year yet Lewis has so your comparrison is flawed.
