I really wanna play Quake Live. But it's not compatible with Macs yet :/

That's what you get for buying a Mac... :P:hehe:

On the bright side, it's the best computer I've ever owned.

Hmm...I wonder if it'll work with my Netbook...I should look into that

Edit: It does

Never owned a pc then?

A Mac is a PC...

its a PC's bar steward child that no one likes.

Well, you're utterly wrong :P

Technically you're right

There's nothing more to it. Maybe when they used PPC instead of x86 CPUs, there would have been some legitimacy to the claim that a Mac is not a PC, but even then it would have been incorrect.

When it comes to gaming, he's spot on

lol

I just find mac users are like JensonB & DD who rave on and on and on about it and how amazing they are and your an idiot if you buy a "PC"

or people who go and sit in starbooks trying to look cool while "writing there novell"

The only legitimate use for a Mac is if your a graphic desginer or video editor.

Otherwise your trying to hard. :P

Practice makes perfect :hehe:

Or, in my case, practice makes you go from just-about-doing-OK-and-helping-your-team-win-some-matches through to being completely and utterly decimated. Repeatedly. And the nano-second I respawn, there is some horrible person waiting there who shoots me. Ad infinitum. *sigh*

Never mind, at least I'm having fun and also sticking to the stereotype that girls can't play FPSs

BTW Longbow I added you as a friend but for whatever reason, I can't see you in my friends list :(

I played on a couple of servers where team damage was turned off. Then went onto a server where it was on and didn't notice for about the first 10 minutes. Oops :boxedin:

tbh, I think Mac keyboards are the nicest I've ever used and if I did a lot of typing as a journalist or something, I would definitely want one. Also for live music applications, they run at quite reliable speeds and don't crash often so if I was a DJ, I'd use one too. My problem with them, aside from the fact that I play games is that Macbooks in particular are twice the price of a 'brand x' laptop with the same spec and laptops are generally twice the price again of desktop PCs of the same spec. I think people are willing to pay over the odds for style and it pushes up the prices for those of us who want functionality and value for money.

Twice the price? You must be kidding! The prices are quite evenly matched for near-identical specs - check out various comparisons by, e.g., PC World and others. Unless that is if you're talking about the rock-bottom crap Dell churns out - Apple doesn't do that kind of cheapo quick buck.

1) I own and use a Windows PC on a regular basis

2) People with Windows PCs do that as well, just not as many of them

3) I am, in fact, a video editor (But you're wrong anyway)

Nah i bet i could get laptop cheaper than you could get any mac it wouldn't be as good but for what most people use laptops for

(browsing the web) it would be fine and good quality.

Quake is awesome enough, but you can't beat the classic that is Doom. :)

Not many games can... undoubtedly that is one of the top 5 best (imo), or at least most important games ever made!

To be honest, anybody who goes out thinking that they need a dual-core CPU and 2GB of RAM is still aiming too high, in my opinion. :hehe:
