this shows Alonso for what he really is? The defending world champion who is trying retain his crown working with a team that says that they are behind him but clearly favouring hamilton (maybe rightly judging by Alonso's recent actions).

If he didn't get the team fined $100 million they wouldn't need his stupid money!!!! Alonso is a vile nasty cheating centre-lowlife, I believe he interfered with Lewis Tyres on both occasions.

That was a shocking post from Pitbabe. £700 a race.

But not sure what is more shocking though - attemping to 'buy' secial attention in the first place or that having decided to do so only offered each £700 a race.

Wth £15m paycheque and lots more in sponsorship if a 3 times winner, he could afford to make a decent offer to those who work hard to support him.

There again, might not have much change left aftering squaring up with his guardian angel. Mad max.

I am careful at judging FA as what you say might be true. Being a first really perspective Briton in McLaren for ages, I can see big majority of team kind of... petting LH. He's young, could be a kid to many of them. He's cool. He has manners (well most of the time). He's good. And as I said, he's an Englishman. His English is English, not Spanglish.

And I'm finding perfectly OK that FA is not sharing setup info with LH anymore. In F1, winning is not just driving race, it is also preparing for the race. And giving winning setup info to your main competitor is, like, shooting your own foot before marathon.

However, I'm not supporting FA for blackmailing crap (if true); and blackmailing team with your own dirty deeds is really insanely... nasty. But I hope a lot of things in news are made up by sensationalist reporters.

Bottom line, I'd like to keep liking FA; after all, he's da man who screwed MS, and since I dislike MS from his first title at Benetton, FA became my hero. But even if FA turns to be as bad as it's being said, it's OK - I'll have another MS-like vilain to cheer against 8)

I have found it hard to like and support FA after all of this but i still believe the team is working against him and so he has to resort to bribery to get his own team to help him win!

What's wrong with offering HIS MECHANICS some incentives for their hard work?? Drivers get bonuses for certain achivements at the end of the year, teams get bonuses for scoring points, what's wrong with HIS mechanics being rewarded for their work?? In Nascar, LeMans, or any other sports, its commons and a motivation for the team. In America Football, the Quarterback usually buys his lineman either watches (ROLEX) or something similiar for their hardwork and for getting him his wins. Some of you guys are making something out of nothing, how is this "bribary" or "buying" the team?? And doesn't McLaren have enough problems already to stir up rumors within the team for the press?? BTW, isn't that article from the UK

Alonso Is a legend of a driver, but the shame is that he is going down the same route of Michael Schumacher. No doubt Alonso is the most complete driver at the moment. but he is very much outspoken.

FA thinks that his engineers and mechanics work for the money.. thats very short sighted, the guys work there because they have a true passion for the sport, they work for mclaren because they are among the very best at what they do, and they'll give 110% all day long, if anything he'll alienate himself from them by offering them money.. all they want for their efforts is RESPECT from their driver, and thinking that they are not working to their full ability and that they need paying to get there is not good for their moral... i think he's just made his biggest mistake of the seaon there!!!

So you telling me mechanics, engineers, aero designers have never moved to another team for more money in F1. What have you been watching in the last 40 years??. A few McLaren employees have left the team in the last few years for more money with other team, Red Bull Andrean Newey ring a bell??
