looking at all the worries about the GP being boring, which i agree with after last year, i'd laugh if it was unbelievably exciting!

Strange news on the Autosport website, Di Montezemolo wants everybody to run 3 cars next year and for Ferrari to run a car for Michael Schumacher...

I saw that, too, however it's not actually that new. It surfaced a while back, just after Schumacher was first in the frame. I thought it was weird at the time. :)

13x3 cars = 39 cars :yikes:
Ok, maybe only the big teams are to run 3, so 6x3=18 + 7x2=14 = 32 cars. Still too many. Unless there's a new quali or even pre-quali procedure. And what about the points system? Not well thought through me thinks.

Exactly...It could be like in late 80`s and early 90`s when there were tons of cars and needed pre qualifying. And then, what`s the point if Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Toyota, maybe Brawn and Red Bull have 3 cars? Then we have 18 from the 6 leading teams and it means that just 8 more spots on grid are left for small teams, so basically 14 cars will fight for 8 spots on grid... SO teams like Manor and Campos perhaps won`t even make a start at all, as of course they will be off pace and even a bad driver with good car can beat them...

So this is ridiculous idea. If there were those old 9 or 8 teams and every had 3 cars then it would be ok.
But now it`s just Montezemola has...he picked Badoer, and this idea, well it seems he has had a ... , I`ll keep it to myself folks...:|

Anyway it`s just a dream of Luca...

Anyway let`s wait for Valencia and see what happens

i think it would be great. I'd like to see 50 cars on the grid like at Le Mans. There would never be a dull moment once people started getting lapped

Commentators would just be like WTF!!!!

Truely a shame about Schumacher, but I suppose he was never truely ready and was just kidding himself. I think the man tried has had as he could, especially when you had people like Bernie blowing things out of proportion (not to mention the race promoters).

I am more shocked that Badoer has been given the drive. Are Ferrari trying to be some sort of Mafia family ? Or do they feel sorry for him?
Marc Gene was their best bet. The man has had racing experience this year and he also knows the car. Surely he was the right man for the job.

All in all, a shame really. Schumacher's return was going to be great, however F1 lived on once he retired and it will do again. Easily.

Yeah, I'm not so hot on the Badoer choice. I mean, I have nothing against him, it's just he's a professional TEST driver
