TBH I don't believe that a car can be run for 5 years without anyone noticing. I remember blowing a piston in the Evo and there is no way that that could of been confused with "needing new spark plugs"

thats what i was thinking, last time i did the plugs on mine i never connected one of the leads properly causing it to only fire on three cylinders and it ran like a bag of f,ing hammers to say the least, was kind of wondering how that thing ran on three cylinders for 5 years and it was never picked up on by the garage, even a compression check would have revealed the problem
