Has the Bourdais situation been clarified yet? I can't find anything about it although it got mentioned a few times during today's GP. Brundle was keeping his mouth shut but Legard seems to be of the opinion that it's his last race.

I wouldn't put that Jamie there
I'd put Senna or Coulthard in there!!
or maybe Davidson! But bloody not Jamie. He's had no experience! & i won't waste my time conducting any research! Maybe Pantano?

Pantano would probably turn it down and drive in the Renault Clio Cup races which support the BTCC weeekend instead. :D

Toro Rosso confirms Bourdais' exit

By Pablo Elizalde Thursday, July 16th 2009, 08:23 GMT

Sebastien BourdaisScuderia Toro Rosso has officially confirmed that Sebastien Bourdais will leave the team with immediate effect and will not be racing at the Hungarian Grand Prix next week.

Team boss Franz Tost said the relationship had not produced the results the team expected, and thus the four-time Champ Car champion will be replaced.

"In Sebastien's second year with us, the partnership has not met our expectations and therefore we have decided to replace him as from the next round of the world championship, the Hungarian Grand Prix," said Tost.

Bourdais made his grand prix debut with the Faenza-based squad last season, scoring five points on his way to 17th place in the standings.

This season, the Frenchman has struggled to match the performance of rookie team-mate Sebastien Buemi, who has outqualified Bourdais seven times in nine races.

Bourdais, the only French racer on the grid, becomes the first driver to be replaced this season.

The team said it will confirm its second driver in due time.

Bourdais is expected to be replaced by Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari, who will become the youngest driver ever to compete in Formula 1 if he starts in Hungary.

Official confirmation, not that we needed it.

Bourdais eyes legal action against STR

By Jonathan Noble Thursday, July 16th 2009, 17:41 GMT

Sebastian Bourdais is considering taking legal action against Scuderia Toro Rosso after he was dropped by the team.

Following days of speculation about Bourdais' future, Toro Rosso announced on Thursday morning that the Frenchman had competed in his last race for the team at the German Grand Prix.

Reacting to the news, Bourdais has expressed his shock at the announcement and revealed that he is consulting his lawyers to see if the team breached its contract with him.

"I am very disappointed and shocked by the decision taken by Scuderia Toro Rosso of not allowing me to drive for the team until the end of the current season," said Bourdais, in a statement issued on Thursday night.

"I consider that, in doing so, Scuderia Toro Rosso has breached its contractual duties towards me; also I believe that nothing in my behaviour would legitimate a decision of the team to terminate the contract.

"I think that the team's decision is in clear violation of Scuderia Toro Rosso's obligations under the agreement. I have instructed my lawyers to review the situation including the possibility of issuing legal proceedings."

As well as his anger at Toro Rosso's move to drop him, Bourdais has expressed further irritation because it comes on the eve of the introduction of a major new car update for the Hungarian GP.

"I am even more frustrated by the team’s decision considering that the latter has been taken immediately before the Hungarian Grand Prix, where a new highly competitive racing package will be introduced by the team in order to try and overcome its current difficulties," said Bourdais.

"I am convinced that if I was given the chance to race with such a new package I would have had the opportunity to achieve satisfactory results."

Bourdais also told his fans that he remained committed to making a success of his F1 career.

As they say in 'Baseball'

"He's put of there"

On a real note, he wasn't good enough and needs to either go to Renault for the 'French' factor. Or go back to the states, either way i do not care.

From F1 Live:

Axed Toro Rosso racer Sebastien Bourdais will not issue legal proceedings against the Red Bull-owned team.

The Frenchman's manager, Nicolas Todt, told the sports daily L'Equipe that an amicable agreement was reached with Faenza-based Toro Rosso shortly after his final race in Germany.

Four days after the Nurburgring race, when Toro Rosso said the 30-year-old would be replaced by Jaime Alguersuari, Bourdais announced that he has "instructed my lawyers to review the situation including the possibility of issuing legal proceedings."

Todt however revealed: "One week after the German Grand Prix, we reached an out-of-court settlement with the team.
They knew it (Bourdais' ousting) would not stand up in court."

Although Bourdais said he remained "strongly committed to my Formula One project" in the wake of his Toro Rosso sacking, it is rumoured his next move might be back to America, and the IndyCar series.

He'd be a fool to go back to the USA for Indycar. It's a total joke of a series and as soon a Danica goes to NASCAR, their only gimmick is gone. They'll have to fold the series, because the car and a majority of the drivers are dogs.
