So does anyone go to airshows?? I'm just wondering cuz there is an airshow this weekend in Salinas, and I love hearing the sound of a fighter jet turnin on the burners 8-) I heard the Red Arrows are pretty good, I would love to see them sometime.

The Blue Angels are the main event this year, and I got some decent pictures of them practicing today. They didnt fly directly over our house, so I had use the full zoom to get these. I think I'll drive close to the airport tomorrow and get some good shots for you guys.

If you look really closely in this diamond formation, you'll notice that they have two number 7 (backup) planes in the number 2 and 4 positions. Usually they use a backup during practices for media purposes (because the number 7 planes are two seaters), but to see two of them is not normal. They probably had a mechanical problem with the number 2 plane.

Only the airshows at a GP.. I would go if there were Airshows in Adelaide but there isnt. I wouldnt mind seeing old war birds actually.

Does the Aussie air force have an aerobatic team?

Yeah the Roulette's! but they use PC9 turbo props  they are at the GP or the Adelaide 500 every year along with F18s

I would go to airshows, but as the weather is crap in the UK and Ireland, they're often cancelled. I'm more a fan of general and commercial aviation, though; military aviation doesn't really interest me.

I don't go out of my way to see them, but they had a Eurofighter (i think that is what it was) demo at Goodwood and it was insane, the pilot was basically powersliding the plane in mid air, i don't know how else to describe it.:thumbup::thumbup: They had the Red Arrows too, which are always awesome. I found it tough to get any good shots of the planes in the sky (clouds didn't help) with my phone camera, good work though Riv. :)

Current general aviation is alright. I like the commercial planes from the early days, especially when the companies were in a race to build the first commercial jetliner.

 The typhoon is a badass plane!!! I would love to see that jet, but it can do crazy stuff because I think it has thrust vectoring.

I've seen the Red Arrows a couple of times at things like Grand Prix but I've never been to an airshow. I'd like to though. Duxford has a great one apparently...

Airshows are great fun. While seeing stunt planes is pretty cool, I only really go to see military jets. I went to an airshow at Edwards AFB in 2006 and I got to see a lot of rare planes you dont normally see at civilian airshows.

Those are cool pics bud. 8-)
