I spend more time at motorsport events nowadays trackdays, hillclimbs, sprints, Time attack etc. For me theres a better class of people who are into motorsport, football (soccer as some of you call it lol) tends to bring out the bad side of people IMO, A guy who can have a normal 9-5 job and be a family man can turn into an animal at a football match shouting abuse/swearing at players on the pitch and visiting fans etc and there will be many more like him in the stands, When was the last time you were at a F1/rally/timeattack etc and you heard somebody shout "you f,ing w@nker" at a passing car lol, I rest my case :D

Yeh and motorsport is far more dangrous.

When was the last time a footballer died from a accident?

When was the last time you saw a Footballer rushed to intensive car.

When was the last time you saw a footballer feint from dehydration after a match.

Footballers have it easy, F1 even now is a really tough sport.

You have failed there sorry.
Top point yes

Not long ago.

Not long ago.

Dunno.

Yes.

Marc Vivien Foe, Nigerian I think used to play for Man City, died not too many years ago, swalled his tongue playing for his country.
Many other guys have swallowed tongues.
Petr Cech, got his head crushed.

But I am with you 100% footballers are puffs and F1 is much more dnagerous and a better sport.

I think regarding players and drivers football players are "mostly" a bunch of posing twats who think the sun shines out of there backsides where as F1 drivers seem to be a bit more low key avoiding the limelight etc

Number 1 it is called football not soccer. Linguistics. Italian = Calcio, Croatian = Nogomet, Spanish = futbol, German = fussball, and in English, the English word for Calcio, Nogomet, futbol and fussball = FOOTBALL. Not soccer. What is a soccer? In football you kick the ball with your feet to play. You can't touch it with your hands unless you are putting the ball back into play or are the goal keeper. That is football. Also back to linguitics. The English invented modern football. The Spanish copied the English name for it and spelt it using their phoentics, ie FUTBOL. Get it right please. The Oxford dictionary calls it football and thats what it is.

And as for it being better than motorsport or not. Depends on what it ism or the game. If you compare it to the racing in the Valencia GP to a UCL game between say AC Milan and Manchester United then I would have to vote football is better. But if you compare it to the 2007 Brazilian GP to a football game between say when Liverpool smashed Turkish side Beskitas 8-0 in 2007 UCL, then I will say F1 is better. Just depends on the actual game or race.

I never thought I'd do this AKR but er... +1

Motorsport is better because it is more difficult and as Ernest Hemmingway said, there are only three true sports, Mountaineering, Bullfighting and Motorsports. The rest are merely games.

Ach fook it i'll wade in.

There should be a wage cap, too many times in football players have joined a club for their bank balance rather than the legacy and reputation of the club. Eg. Man City, Chelsea.

The problem I have with alot of Footballers compared to other sportsmen (or women) is that they think because they drive flash cars, have WAGs and are in the media spotlight, that they are above the law. I like Liverpool, but if I had done what Gerrard had done, i'd probably be serving time right now...

I've always preferred Motorsport so it is natural that I would say it is better than Football. It does have its problems though, especially with politics and sporting rules and regulation. Due to this, I think it is consistently damaged as a product. At least incidents on a soccer field (such as wrong sending offs blah blah) are dealt with in a clear way.

Exactly. I hate the attitude that comes with a lot of footballers.
