[well they could stick parts from the 09 car on it, anything not visible like they could try a kers upgrade or a susspension change i bet.

but i doubt it.

No, they won't do this. Anyway, Ferrari asked the other teams to allow Michael Schumacher to have one day testing with F60 ahead of race in Valencia. I can't wait for the response of the teams. So, if the other teams agree with the one day testing in F60, Ferrari won't need to put this year's parts on the old car.

I cant see the teams allowing that to happen.

FOTA teams have just reveal that they are keen to let Ferrari and Schumacher to have one day testing with F60 ahead of race in Valencia. Really great news for both Ferrari and Schumacher.

Just Force India and Williams have to agree and the FIA would probably allow Ferrari one day testing with this year's spec car.

Cheeky b :censored: s. Why couldn't they have done this for Alquersuari instead of everyone moaning he wasn't experienced enough?

Yeah i dont think thats really fair! what if Ferrari try new parts on the car while they do this test?

I cant see Williams letting this happen though, i think his run in the 07 car is enough. If Schumacher needs a special test day then Ferrari shouldnt have picked him to fill in for Massa. They have 2 drivers already who are up to scratch with the F60!

Maybe because STR didn't ask for it?

But of course, it must be done case-by-case.
I think if STR asked if Jaime can test for 1-day, the FOTA teams might have given the green light also.

But the fact is, or at least it looks like, STR didn't ask if they could allow Jaime to test.
Certainly, it should only happen under super special circumstances.

Beat me to that point.
But yeah, STR just needed to ask.
If they did then it is a different matter

why should STR have, they dumped a driver for another, it was their choice to put Jaime in the seat knowing he couldnt have a test. Ferrari had a choice of many drivers who wouldnt have needed a test yet chose one that does, so why should they be allowed to test during a test ban!

i think if FOTA believes the teams are swapping drivers for the benefit of gaining a testing advantage, then for sure FOTA wont let it happen... But the STR/Ferrari case we were on to suggest a special circumstance.

If STR asked, then for sure FOTA will evaluate the situation and see that it is a 19 year old coming in to the sport and all that. Maybe FOTA will understand and approve the request. In Ferrari's case, it is also a special circumstance as it is a substitute driver that is replacing a current driver. A test ban is to make sure all teams are on the same level of advantage, not to disadvantage others.

just my opinion though...

But what if Ferrari use this test to try out new parts while the other teams have to wait until Valencia to test parts! Then all the teams are disadvantaged then!

like i said Ferrari didnt have to choose a driver that needed a test to replace Massa! Badoer or Gene would not need a test.

I really don't see why a driver with 248 starts needs a test in this year's car to see if he's up to it. His test in the 2007 car should suffice. Typical Schumacher - he's been back 5 minutes and already he's causing an argument!
