That's exactly what it is. I'll confess I'm guilty of it when it comes to football. I can't stand it normally (entirely because I hate most professional footballers) but as soon as an internation game is on I'll be flying the George Cross. Na i understand what you mean. There is nothing wrong with supporting the "nation". However if you were to proclaim that you were an expert on Football then I would have a problem with that.

He was also a fresh and excting new driver so I can understand the influx of fans. We're predisposed to support people of our own nationality, if they happen to be very talented then that just makes it a lot easier.
