All internal Ferrari politics aside, I really urge Felipe to look at the big picture and take at least a month or two months off for full healing...
as the problems related to head injuries sometimes manage to hide itself until some time later....
i want to see Felipe back, for sure ! But i think we have to make sure he is 1000000% recovered first

He's only putting himself in more danger if he rushes. But I would like to see him race at the final race of the season. Perhaps he could take Schumacher's place on the Pit Wall in the meantime.

Petr Cech took months to recover from his skull fracture. I'd rather Massa wait, and come back for his home Grand Prix, which would make a memorable moment and top off a fan-bloody-tastic season.

Is his amount of races he did (248) related to the Ferrari 248 in 2006.
It was the last Ferrari F1 he raced, and they might have calculated how many races he should have been on, by the end of that year?

I never thought he would say yes but he has. I am so excited. I have long wanted to see Schumi race again. Raikkonen and Massa are not the same. Now I hope Schumi races the whole season as just watching him excites me. He may struggle against the Red Bulls and Brawns because their cars are better, but he should beat Lewis Hamilton if McLaren and Ferrari are close like they are now because Michael Schumacher is simply THE BETTER out of the 2. And if he happens to win it will be wonderfull to see Schumi on the podium. The smile on his face, the jump he does, and of course the Lied von Deutschland and the Inno di Mameli, 2 great national anthems being played.

It will be very exciting to see him race again you got that right, but I do actually think he has a fighting chance. With Kimi’s good performance on the other weekend I believe Schumi could milk this car for the best milk round. You don’t just get 7 titles like that now do you? Otherwise I would have 11

ichael Schumacher will test a Ferrari Formula One car at the Mugello track in Italy this weekend, according to the German newspaper Bild Zeitung.

Due to the strict in-season testing ban, the 40-year-old German's mount will be the Maranello team's 2007 model, devoid of slick tyres and the current aerodynamics and run by the 'F1 Clienti' department.

The aim is to test whether Schumacher's neck injury, sustained in a motorcycle testing crash in February, will prevent his scheduled return to substitute for the injured Felipe Massa as from the European Grand Prix at Valencia late next month.

It is also reported that his goal over the next few weeks is to shed a few kilograms. A photograph taken at Robert Kubica's recent karting event shows the topless Schumacher has visibly toned down his training regime since retiring in late 2006.

Quadruple world champion Alain Prost told France's Europe 1 radio that he was "very surprised" to hear about the comeback.

"I don't understand his decision, but I respect it," said the Frenchman. "Three years ago he stopped, he put on a little weight and he's getting over his motorbike accident.



"It is a slightly odd decision and a big challenge. Perhaps he just wanted to help Ferrari, because the test drivers Gene and Badoer have done some Grand Prix but there are clearly not as fast.”

Meanwhile, Schumacher’s manager has denied rumours the German pledged to replace Felipe Massa in exchange for a new €5m per year contract to retain his Ferrari advisory role.

"No. We haven't spoken about that yet," Willi Weber told the Bild Zeitung newspaper. "In all honestly, we haven't spoken about money and nor will we do so in the coming weeks. At the moment that's not important."

However, when reminded that a driver managed by Weber has never in the past raced for free, the 67-year-old answered: "And the same is true for the future as well."

well it says he is driving in the clienti F1 department. so that wouldnt be the F1 team, i would assume the F1 Client Department would be for rich geezers who want to have a run in an F1 car. its a loophole dont think Ferrari will have any gains from this.

No, they won't do this. Anyway, Ferrari asked the other teams to allow Michael Schumacher to have one day testing with F60 ahead of race in Valencia. I can't wait for the response of the teams. So, if the other teams agree with the one day testing in F60, Ferrari won't need to put this year's parts on the old car.
