Some good one's there. I'd add Monroe and Dali to my list too. :) (Er I think I mean Da Vinci) :D

Doesn't anyone ever root for the underdog? (I'm just as bad)

Here's another hero:

I support England/Britain in every sport, so yes.

Ah come on, they are hardly ever painted as the underdog are they?

Well I suppose I've supported Red Bull ever since DC joined the team (first season in F1) and even after he's left. I'd like to class them as underdogs :D

Our press is overly optimistic, we usually are the underdog.

I supported Tiger Tim for years

Exactly. Even in the build up to the latest ashes test the news readers were basically saying "we'll win".

It's the same at every Football or Rugby World Cup. As a Scot, we know we're going to get "humped" - it's in out psychy.

LOL You have a point, whereas Tiger Tim didn't really have much chance of winning anything, Murray has the potential (if he cheers up a bit).

I spend most of my time during big sporting events explaining to my family/friends, who are far less sports obsessed than me, why they're expecting too much. They listen to the news and think they have a grasp of what's going on despite not watching a single sporting event all year, they never learn to just ignore the hype
