Well us Americans say "panties in a wad." :hehe:

:rofl: thought you said it was a Brit saying! However I'll use that one!! Prefer knickers in a twist though, specially if its to some aggressive macho man. :hehe:

From F1 Live:

BMW will not remain in Formula One even to supply its V8 engines to customer teams, board member Klaus Draeger insists.

"No. We will not be available in the forthcoming season as an engine supplier," he said in Munich on Wednesday.

BMW's decision to withdraw from Formula One follows that of Honda late last year, and amid rumours Toyota and Renault may soon follow.

However BMW motorsport boss Mario Theissen said he does not get the feeling that more manufacturers are set to depart.

"We spoke all together last weekend in Budapest," said the German, referring to the team alliance also comprising Ferrari, Mercedes, Toyota and Renault.

"I did not get the impression that similar decisions are approaching with other teams or manufacturers, but of course only the teams themselves can say that for sure."

From F1 Live:

Peter Sauber on Wednesday played down hopes he might simply step back in and resume leadership of his Swiss-based Formula One team.

The 65-year-old, who sold his Hinwil-based outfit to BMW at the end of 2005, said he fears the Munich manufacturer's withdrawal from Formula One could mean the closure of the team.

"I respect and accept the decision but am still finding it hard to digest," Sauber, who retains a 20 percent shareholding of the team he founded in 1993, told the German news agency DPA.

It has been suggested that Sauber could now step back in and resume running the outfit as a privateer, but the Swiss played down that prospect.

"The position we are in now makes it very difficult," he said without elaborating.

All night and all day the news was in the back of my mind. I just simply can't beleive they are calling it quits. I know they are having a bad year, but who didn't?? Look at Force India for instance, the sh*tiest team, but now they are improving and I gotta tell ya! They came a LONG way just like BMW. I hope one day and pretty soon BMW will at least provide engines to F1. As far as the factory team all I have to say as a BMW fan is thank you for coming to F1 and you will never be forgotten! :(

Bad year for F1.

I think it's a good year. :)

In regards to BMW pulling out, I don't care.

I've never really given a stuff about the team, and I'm not prepared to do so now. I don't even give a stuff about the drivers. I just wan't to see who replaces them.

Thank you for not considering the seven or eight hundred people who may have no jobs after the end of the year. Your view is most appreciated.

Yeah.

arse

These guys won't lose their jobs. They are qualified pit mechanics etc, in which one of the new teams will greatly snap up. Not a worry.

Sauber have never looked like they would compete for a championship, and they never will. I would, however, like to see Mr. Sauber take on a Cosworth engine, but if he doesn't want to stick it out despite being rich and having 700 people's jobs on the line, then that just gives me an even better reason to keep on disrespecting the team.

It's funny, you ask me to list all of the teams in Formula One. I always forget Sauber. Why? Because it's a useless middle-order team that has gone neither forwards or backwards.

That said, my deepest sympathy (although it seems like I don't have a heart) goes out to their fans, and any failed team pulling out of Formula One is a sad moment indeed.

I feel sorry for Heidfeld who may never get a Formula One win, despite consistently finishing in the points. His story is better than Webber's in my opinion - and he is the new Chris Amon.

BMW really shouldn't quit. Look at Williams - they have more reason to quit than Sauber - who've actually won a race in the last year - but they are actually sticking it out. In my opinion BMW should've tried harder. But this team seem to never have tried hard enough, so why should they try now? Like I said - stuff'em! :irked:
