DD, in one of your posts you complained about ML fans copying and pasting articles from other websites. You have been doing the same thing in here. I see you resort to the same tactics as your accused opponent, but in your case it's OK. This reminds of a team that gets away with a lot of sh*t, FERRARI...

SIX PAGES OF GARBAGE, I just read just pages of garbage. NONE of you sat at the hearing, NONE of you have or heard any of the evidences, and please stop linking to stupid websites with writer's opinions, its nothing more then opinions since like you guys, they don't have or wasn't at the hearing. Stop feeding us with stupid THEORIES about past and present. At the end of the day, McCheaters, opps McLaren was found guilty of cheating (that's a fact folks no theory) and was punished. Now shut up and lets race. Oh Breaking News- Super Aguri has just moved into 7th place the Constructor Title :D

I agree totally with BMWPower. I'm sick to death of all the McLaren fanboys who throw their arms up in the air and cry CONSPIRACY every time their farking retarded cheating b@stard team does something wrong.

Ron Dennis got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he got punished, McLaren will forever be branded as cheats and their results will be meaningless.

Get over it.

Yeah Demure Ron Dennis orchistrated this whole affair! and he duck your mum! he is your dad!!

were it not a team member of Ferrari who was just giving away information? not unlike Toyota who bought some information and just got away with a monitary fine and the FIA didnt even stick their beak in.

And everyone who is going on and on about the punishment was just, think again that if McLaren even did use the data dont kid yourself into thinking this hasnt happened before in the history of F1, since day one its been about seeing what your competitors are doing and testing it out yourself. Just look at how many teams are running twin wings as we speak!

everyone hear has branded mclaren as cheaters or ferrari as conspirators. What I want to know is where were the two that started this whole thing; Nigel Stepney and Mike Couchlin, on thursday? It seems that Mclaren are paying for their criminal behaviour.

Obviously, FIA and Ferrari were scared those two might even confess McLaren hasn't received any info.

I'm waiting for FIA's report. If any. They've got 100 mils in their fatass pockets (and maybe a few more from Ferrari under the table), so they should deliver something for the money.

Its not only mclaren fans who are saying the whole biz stinks. Ferrari have allways had their own way with the world council, The fact that the majority of the council is made up of ferrari men says it all, with pro ferrari uncle max in charge no one is going to win in the court against them. The F1 hierarchy is corrupt and dragging the sport into the gutter. Now we have bernie and Flavio as biz partners, so that should give renault an advantage with the FIA at well. Everyone else might as well pack up and go home. The FIA has allways stuck its neck out for ferrari who apparently can never do anything wrong. Incidently (before the accusations start)I am not a mclaren fan and never have been

Ah, well, the evidence has finally started to appear.

FIA's statement says "The evidence leads the WMSC to conclude that some degree of sporting advantage was obtained, though it may forever be impossible to quantify that advantage in concrete terms,"

Basically, they did find emails from Pedro to Alonso, but only discussing that there was information and that "It comes from Nigel Stepney, their former chief mechanic -- I don't know what post he holds now". This was speaking about Weight Distribution information that Coughlan had provided.

The FIA found no evidence of use of this data on the cars, but summed up from the number of SMS messages between Coughlan and Stepney that something must have been used somewhere, or at the least Alonso knew more than he should about certain setups of the Ferrari car.

It was Alonso himself that provided these to the FIA as part of the hearing.

So, this is why the FIA fined McLaren: For the fact their driver, Alonso, had some data sent in an email from De La Rosa and also due to the number of SMS messages Coughlan had in his phone during one of Ferrari's busiest testing runs.

The question is: Do you think that the punishment is fair for this? I leave it up to you...

The general gist of it is "They talked a lot, therefore McClaren must be guilty of using this information to their advantage DESPITE there being concrete evidence that they haven't." How anyone can reasonably find that fair is something I struggle to comprehend. And before anyone comments, I don't support teams, I support drivers - and the closest team I came to supporting was Ferrari.

Serenity, what the FIA actually said was that Coughlan held enough information to influence the testing being carried out on the Mclaren.

In one example, PDR requested and was told the exact weight distribution of the Ferrari for testing in the simulator. Another time he was told about a gas that Ferrari used to keep the tyres cooler.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that PDR, a test driver - not an engineer, made the decision not to test the weight distribution and tyre gas he was told about.

But that was known before, was it not? The moment they discovered what he had in his home they knew he had enough information to influence the testing being carried out. The FIA have admitted that their fine is based on what is possible, and not on what they know actually happened.
