I must be one of the only people who couldn't sit through 300, I gave in after about 20 minutes  I think it had been overly hyped by my friends so I had unrealistic expectations, either that or it was just rubbish

Are you sure you weren't watching 'Meet the Spartans'?

I wouldn't go anywhere near that one, it was definitely 300. I'll give it another try one day, maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind for it at the time.

its good if you don't take it too seriously.

kinda like Transformers 2 really.

Just watched 'Being John Malkovich' which is brilliant. I love willfully odd films. I can't imagine how they approached Malkovich about doing the film!

I thought Benjamin Button was a missed opportunity. I like the story, I'm a Fitzgerald fan and it looked great and was well acted i thought but they just ladled the sentiment on a little too thick, it didn't need it. It just came over as if it was trying a bit too hard. I'd like to have seen them do something more effective with the New Orleans thing too...

'Walz with Bashir' was by far my favourite film from last year. That was miles better than 'Benjamin Button', 'Slumdog Millionare', 'The Reader' and the other Oscar nominated stuff I saw

Odd films?

Donnie Darko.

Love!

Gotta watch it a couple times to understand it.
Or maybe that's just cos I'm slow.

Donnie Darko is fantastic. One of my all time favourites. It's just so easy to watch despite being really ambiguous, sort of like Pulp Fiction is a way. The Gyllenhaals and Jena Malone are some of my favourite actors anyway but the whole cast is great in that film imo.
Anyone seen 'Brick'?

Watched "The Happening" last night. What an utterly pointless film . . .

If you think that movie was pointless you should see "Knowing." It is by far the stupidest, and most pointless movie I've ever seen. I felt bad for Nicholas Cage, it was so bad.

Anyone seen the Curious Case of Benjamin Button? I quite liked it.

Need to see that

Its pretty good, I think you'd like it.

I kinda agree with you gilles, I think they spent too much time on certain parts of the movie. I still liked it though.
