The usual suspects: "Lotus", "Brabham" etc etc... (notice the quotation marks) the ones that didn't get selected to be in the 2010 list...

But if BMW leaves, does Sauber team leave F1 with BMW? or will Sauber team up with another engine supplier? or BMW just be the sole supplier?

You bring up an interesting point, I did not consider that possibility.

I'm pretty sure BMW actually own the BMW Sauber team, they just kept the Sauber name along with it. I could be wrong, though.

If the Sauber team still wants to race, I really hope they can break away from BMW...
maybe instead of BMW Sauber, we might have Sauber BMW, BMW as an engine supplier

Either a return to the Sauber name or bringing in Lola or Prodrive would be the only suitable options i reckon. However, asking one of the teams who previously applied for 2010 may have an issue in that time is short...

Did BMW simply take over the old Sauber factory when they entered, or did they move base to their own facility??

Both. BMW Sauber have a base of operations in Munich, as well as the old Sauber set-up in Hinwil.

It angers me that BMW are leaving like this, if they wanted to win the drivers & constructors championship this badly within a set number of years they should have taken the opportunity which arose for them last year.

If Prodrive still want in to F1 next season they should be offered the newly vacant spot.

Yeah: Prodrive, or Lola, is the only way to go. For Formula One to be taken seriously, it has to have as many credible teams as possible.

The most likely scenario has to be a Brawn style buy-out. I believe that Peter sauber still owns about 15%, and I think Petronas may own the same?

Whether Peter Sauber would want to do that is another matter...

I don't suppose they coudl offer the place to another team until it was certain it would close rather than being bought out, by which time it wodl probably be too late for Lola / Prodrive. I don't see either of them wanting to buy out Sauber itself, because it is based in the wrong place.
