Whats going on? the last death was like 30 years ago. What's going on? 2010!!! This is stupid. But i would prefer to see a sport banned than rather see a family lose a son or father.

It was 15 years ago, Senna. You joking or am I just misunderstanding you here?

A little over dramatic, but you understand what i mean? It was nearly my life time ago injury could kill someone. You would of thought it got better.

Injuries can always kill someone. The first race of 2007 saw Alex Wurz about an inch away from death, the same thing happening to Buemi in Spain this year.

Also not mentioned, but quite important, was the death of a marshal in F1 a few years ago when they were struck by a loose wheel. It's not just the drivers that are at risk...

Just scares me dude, like Moto Gp?

I love watching it, but sometimes when i see Lorenzo so close to falling off, i just :censored: myself.

Hence why i am not watching this weekends race. Massa is just a little bundle of joy, everyone on here loves him? He is just a lovely little guy.

We need to remember that danger is always going to exist when we are talking about such great speeds. But what we also need to bear in mind is that safety has much much improved over the years. Look at Kubica in Canada 2007. He would have been killed not 10 years ago in a crash similar to that. The safety has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years, to the extent some say F1 is too safe.
This will silence some of them people for now, and i think that we need to say, OK we have very well designed cars now. That was evident on Saturday. The rest of him was pretty much OK, and the car still very much intact. What we maybe need to do is assess the helmets, see if there is anything more that can be done there. Its scary because we have had 2 incidents so close together, but we need to be realistic and say it was a complete freak incident.
Lets be glad that the latest we hear he is stable, and hope that we will see this very popular man race again, but lets also remember this sport is dangerous, all motor sport is and its a risk the competitors take and the fans take because they love what they do and we love watching.
Its just awful when we get one incident, let alone two.

Would you put the Moto GP riders in a car just because they keep falling of their bikes? It's the same with F1, if you put the drivers in a canopy you are taking away from what the sport is. Besides, when you drive at over 300 km/h you can expect some horrible accidents from time o time.

longbow, that's kurt ahearns at the n-ring/carosel in 1965 f2 race. tom pryce was hit in the head by a fire bottle being run across the track by a young inexp. marshal. dr.helmut marko was hit in the eye by a stone=loss of the use of that eye.s.johannson hit a deer.it is believed that helmut konig hit airborne klag which caused him to blackout and die by running under a armco. senna we all know about. de matta also hit a deer. alan stacy hit a bird at spa which took his life. thankfully that's all i can think of. c's just won't work/many reasons. should we put seatbelts/harnesses in the shower because alot of people fall down? burt.
