JA has just posted on Twitter saying to ignore reports of Massa being in a life-threatening situation. He's stable apparently. :)

ignore reports on Sky/AP that Massa is in life threatening condition. He's stable after an op and will be okay. Long recuperation though

Good :) Poor bloke, I hope he makes a full recovery

Just as I expected, some idiot will have been trying to blow it all out of proportionment and scare people, particularly as it's 1 week after Surtee's fatal accident and the fact in Motorsport bad things tend to come in two's.

Whoever blew it all out of proportionment needs to be tied up and forced to listen to EJ moan about KERS for an evening.

Hope Massa gets well soon, he's a top bloke and it's not too late for him to become a Champion one day. :)

I hope JA has got it right :)

I hope so, too. Of course I would be inclined to listen to someone who is out there in Hungary reporting on it rather than others. James Allen is quite well-connected in the F1 world, so I trust that the vast majority of his information is reliable.

There are alot of people out there that want motorsport outlawed, and use any kind of opening to exploit to further their agendas. So naturally they will jump on an event like this and exaggerate or even barefaced lie to that end.

I guess the reporter also failed to take onboard this part;

Bazso and chief surgeon Lajos Zsiros say they expect Massa to be awoken Sunday.

Maybe recuperation after surgery near the brain is usually treated as serious and life threatening as standard.

Don't know JA but I just got this tweet from Planet f1

A worrying update on Felipe Massa has emerged with Sky Sports News reporting that the Ferrari driver is in a 'life-threatening condition'.

According to the station, surgeons at the Budapest hospital where Massa underwent emergency surgery on his fractured skull have told reporters that Massa's condition is "serious, life-threatening but stable."

Hopefully James Allen has a bit of inside information. Although 'long recuperation' isn't the best news in the world it's far better than 'life threatening'

It's possible that he might miss the next race, even if there is such a gap between Hungary and Valencia.
