I'm very amused at all the sites scrambling to announce the McLaren-Ferrari saga news...
According to Planet-F1, FIFA are now in on the act....must be the first time the footballing authorities have gotten in on the F1 act

Autosport's article had the whole F1 paddock in confusion, this is a ridiculous situation and an exceptionally damaging matter for the sport.

The hearing is still going so no results as yet. The FIA (or FIFA, who knows ) have proposed that McLaren get excluded for 2007 and 2008, but it's just a recommendation. No word yet on whether that's just consutrctors, or whether it will be drivers too....

How can you ban a team, but allow their drivers to continue in the same fraudulent car? They are part of the team, very much so. The only thing I could envision is not handing out a personal ban, i.e., they are allowed to drive for another team.

Very true. I'd be surprised if McLaren weren't allowed to keep the points but the drivers were...but who knows!

To the highest bidder - wouldn't BMW like the WDC title? Anyway, IF a team ban is introduced, Ferrari, Massa and Raikkonen will walk it.

I was wondering about that too - would they adjust all the results, i.e., move people up or just cancel the McLaren results and leave points as they were? Looks like a huge mess to do that.

They probably think this is easier to solve than the blatantly obvious cheating done by West Ham.

That's exactly the reason why I don't think we should discuss ANY football stuff in the General Discussion area, be it BE buying the FIFA headquarters in Zurich or FB screwing around at the current Women's Football World Champion tournament - has anybody seen the 11:0 between Germany and Argentina?
