team mates on different stratagies.... are you sure you even watch F1??? it happens nearly every race! just last race the BMW's did it. why arent you bringing that up?

Ok first off Bud don't throw all your toys out of your pram just yet. If i was posting on this forum in the 2008 season I would have been fairly annoyed at BMW with the Canadian GP when Heidfeld clearly moved over for Kubica.

Theres on thing with team mates swapping position to try get into the points(BMW at the last gp). Its another when its for a podium position/win. It annoys me nearly as much as your ability to articulate yourself in a debate without resulting to insulting someone to try make your point.

The team orders in Hockenheim were nothing out of the ordinary. Teams even do it with other teams, so as not to risk a clash or degrading the tires...

But anyway, my point has been, that Heikki at Renault was under no more pressure than Heidfeld, Bourdais, Fisi, Massa, Kimi, Piquet, Alonso... and even Hamilton in Mclaren. The fact that Briatore is more 'outspoken' and more of a character doesnt really mean the other teams' drivers are not under equal or even more pressure.

I agree with Denthul and that is what makes Piquet's plight even more unanswerable. He was competitive in GP2!

That can't help you much in a spec-series, though. Piquet has a good enough career record to make his Formula One performances perplexing.

he can chill with his Dad as a Boss, then with Flavio on his back? It would make any Guy want to blow his hands off so he can't drive. It's like a worse job then a sales job

Piquet uncertain about F1 future

Nelson Piquet says his position at the Renault team until the end of the season is not 100 percent secure following a difficult first half of the campaign.

The Brazilian, in his second full season in Formula 1, has struggled to make an impression with the Renault, which has not been among the fastest cars so far.

Piquet is yet to a score a point and there were rumours already last week that his position for the Hungarian Grand Prix was in doubt.

Although the 23-year-old was confirmed for the Hungaroring race, he admitted on Thursday he is unsure if he will complete the season.

When asked if the situation was settled for the rest of the season, he said: "No, it is not 100 percent settled for the rest. That is why I am going to do my job and let my father do the rest."

He added: "There was a bit of a mess at the last race, I knew there was a big chance for me to be here - there was just conflict, and contracts, and a conflict of egos between a few people. But, it ended up with everything working well.

"The problem is that these days a contract in F1 doesn't mean much, and we have seen several cases already of drivers and teams breaking contracts, and it just stays that way. So, the only thing I can do is drive, do my best and leave my father to do his job and see what he can do.

"I always have to try and do my best, and now that I have a better chance now that I have the same car, and not only that – but it also looks like the car is quite quick. Then it is an easier chance to show something.

The Renault driver, overshadowed by team-mate Fernando Alonso this year, says he is now used to dealing with the uncertainty about his future.

"I have been facing this kind of situation since last year," he said. "It is not something new for me. The level we are at motorsport, we need to know how to deal with it. We are in the top level of motorsport and drivers need to know how to deal with these pressures and that kind of thing.

"I would say dealing like Lewis was at the end of his first season, fighting for the championship, that must have been even harder than what I am going through.

"This is only part of the stress of motorsport – Lewis must have been through much more stress than I am at the moment. You need to know how to deal with these kind of things."

As Ive said before I feel for that guy. At least when lewis was up against Alonso he didnt have Briatore in tow. Goodness knows what Piquet has had to put up with!And still he can put in a word for someone else who has had pressure and unfair judgements against him.I would like to see Piquet race in a different team cos i dont think we judge him fairly.

It is for that exact same reason that I don't have any pity for Barrichello with his "Ferrari story". He also knew what he was in for!

Completely unfair. I mean, it's not really as though Barrichello and Piquet had much of a choice. Barrichello was promised the world by Stewart, but things didn't work out. In fact, they were bloody terrible. With his career getting on a bit, moving to Ferrari was the least worst option available to him. Piquet's case is a bit different, in that he was young enough to have waited another year and because his father could have pulled a few strings. But, at the end of the day, Formula One seats are not opportunities which arise on a daily basis, and he was at the right age and had sufficient credentials for entering Formula One, so you can't really fault him for joining Renault.
