Y'know, I love this sport as a sport. MS is the world's greatest driver to date. Hamilton has done amazingly for someone in their rookie year. There are some brilliant drivers coming through in the "underdog" cars. I love the noise, the atmosphere of being at a race which I get an echo of every time I hear the airhorns going off; the bumps, the overtaking, the pitstop strategies. I am never going to stop watching this sport just because of some stupid corporate insanity. Yes, it will be bad to lose a top team - if it comes to that! And I dread all the "nehnehneh" that's going to be coming from whichever team (cough) "wins" It will make the forum fun though.

I like to see Massa win. I like to see Kimi win. I love the red colour of Ferrari merchandise. I would like to see MS return to drive. I'd like to see Hamilton win the championship. I'd like to put Ron Dennis in a barrel because I don't like the man.

I don't let politics ruin my life, I am not going to let F1 politics ruin my sport!

I've been watching Formula One for years and, even more so than Balestre's work in the early 1990s, this current spying scandal and how it has been dealt with has questioned my loyalty to the sport. Yeah, the odd bit of poltics spices up matters and Formula One can't survive with the commercial side of things now, but what we are seeing now has no call for it. If McLaren get done tomorrow and/or thrown out of the championship, I'll probably watch the Belgium Grand Prix, however, it will be with an extremely apathetic and hollow feeling. As far as I'm concerned the only satisfactory punishment is the same one we got last time and seeing two McLarens lining up on the grid still in the position to win the drivers' and constructors' championship.

Well, there are many people out there whose sense of justice is much more developed than yours and who require a REAL punishment for the bad McLaren boys to feel satisfied.

Well, there are many people out there whose sense of justice is much more developed than yours and who require a REAL punishment for the bad McLaren boys to feel satisfied.

Why are all these "many people out there"only interested in seeing McLaren punished? And where is your evidence for these many people's viewpoints? You are into the realms of fantasy now, not being logical. I think McLaren Fan has a far better developed sense of justice than you do.
And what's with the "bad McLaren boys".Did you not accuse someone else on this forum of simplifying things into a Good verses bad scenario? Not being consistent now

The premise of McLaren Fan's post was if McLaren gets done tomorrow and/or thrown out based on the new evidence the FIA reportedly has in their hands. And yet, he continues and states (the passage I quoted above starting with: 'As far as I'm concerned....'
With this statement not only does McLaren Fan refuse to take into account the potential severity of the new evidence (w/o even knowing exactly what this new evidence might be), but also demonstrates (again) how prejudicial he is in asking for them to get off scot-free no matter what. This attitude definitely strikes me as not guided by a well-developed sense for justice.
My choice of words in 'bad McLaren boys' you took offense with is as you'd know by now and having read many of my posts and their style, a rather sarcastic and joking reference to the fact that they WERE already found guilty the first time around (so they ARE bad;-) - but also the fact that the FIA has summoned them again with new evidence, which doesn't look good per se - so they might well be even VERY BAD boys.
If you have been bad and if you have been found guilty, most people with a well developed sense of justice would expect appropriate punishment, which didn't happen the first time around (FIA in Ferrari's pockets - ha, ridiculous!).

I didnt take offense, Im not that fragile Its just you contradicted yourself when the guy from USA used the good guys bad guys analogy. Think maybe you a little Naive (Sorry if thays spelt wrong )regarding Ferrari, especially if you think they are good boys FIA are biased, history indicates this so we cant trust in their dealings in the case and its that that causes the sense of injustice. If McLaren were tried fairly then I think people would accept the result whichever way it went ,but fairness cannt be ensured,in fact evidence of previous FIA invovement suggests the decision is a forgone conclusion. Hope Im wrong.

I've said before if McLaren are genuinely guilty then a punishment is warranted. My complaint, however, is about the people making the decision. The FIA are too political, there are too many personal grudges and witch hunts and Ferrari have more representatives on the board that's going to be making the decision today. Let's assume McLaren are genuinely guilty, all we will have today is criminals punishing criminals. It's not only time punish teams, it's time for new leadership of the sport we love.
